Jesus' disciples

A Relationship That Can Change the World Jesus’ disciples, the ones he called into a relationship with him as talmidim, made such an impact on the province of Asia Minor—the most pagan of all the Roman provinces—that it became the most Christian province in the Roman Empire. Jesus desires the same kind of relationship with his disciples today. To have that kind of relationship in our world means that we must:· Know God’s Word and Jesus’ interpretation of it.· Be passionate in our devotion to that Word and Jesus’ example. · Follow him even if we are not sure of the final destination.· Live by his teaching, which means we must know that teaching well.· Be obsessed with being like him as much as is humanly possible.· Develop meaningful relationships with others so that they will observe us and seek to imitate our love, devotion to God, and out Jesus-like lifestyle. (See 1 Cor. 2:16; 11:1; Gal. 3:26—27.) By God’s grace, people with totally committed relationships to Christ can change the most pagan culture—including our own. -Ray Vandeer Laan

Pretty much sounds good to me, except Jesus didn't have an "interpretation" of the Word, HE IS THE WORD, He spoke The Word under Divine unction while here and sent His Spirit of Truth and The Inspired Bible, not written by 'methods', to point/lead us to the Truth.2nd ~ "Live by his teaching, which means we must know that teaching well."Who does this teacher suggest we go to learn "that teaching well" ?What 'methods' must we employ to "learn well" ? :-)

Sure sounds like a lot of work to me.What do you mean?? "work to enter into His rest"Paul says we labour.....Bounds said prayer is the real "work". Jesus said "strive" to enter in...Theres alot more than this....be quick to hear slow to speak.

Annie,I know your opinion now on "methods" and "hrm". So please lets leave it there......I know now. Every time I post one of Ray Laan articles I will know what you already think. Lets keep it there please. I say this with love...not at all being harsh. :-)
