Dear Krispy,You ask a valid question, I suppose one that everyone should consider before taking such a course of action as to entering seminary. Is this God's will for me or not? Will God use seminary to train me? Or does the Lord have a different course set before me? I don't feel the need to have a Master's degree to fulfill the great commission. If that were the case, then what should I say of the preaching I have done so far? However, I also cannot deny the opportunities it does afford me. I suppose the greatest advantage of Seminary is the network of believers of which to rely on. Unto no man has the Spirit given all gifts, and neither did God make any person completely sufficient in of themselves. Rather, He designed us in such a way that we need each other. And it is those things in which I can share with my fellow brothers and sisters Christ that will help me (and the Church) grow the most. Seminary is a place where I can grow and learn together with others. Of course, there is also the focused study, the education, the preparation, the faculty to challenge, and friends to make along the way. There is the accreditation and the ministry opportunities that are presented. There is the also establisment which means that people in previous years have gone out of their way in love, in order to help future generations progress and takes steps forward in the direction God has called them. However, it is definitely an important question to ask, is this what the Lord has for me? I am still waiting for a definite answer on this question. Thanks,Blake
