I Corinthians 2.14The natural man receiveth not the things of God, for they are foolishness to him, neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. ______________The Natural Man i.e. - the “Animal Man”_________________ ***The transliteration from the Greek to English of the phrase “The Animal Man”, (I Corinthians 2.14) - suits well into the personality puzzle of man’s 21st Century persona. With the mind set of “Survival of the Fittest", accompanied by the afront of the Humanist Manifesto - “Situational Ethics” - man has been "morphed", by the Intelligensia (?) - into that of a self-centered, instinctual critter; with neither genuine regard for others, (see motive), complimented by an emnity towards God. Albert Einstein stated that: "Relativism works well in Physics, but not in Sociology".***Basically, there are two schools of thought regarding human moral responsibility. First, there is nihilism. Nihilism argues that there is no God; hence anything one wishes to do is permitted. There are no rules - absolutely none - for human conduct; according to this ideology, every person is a law unto himself. Second, there is relativism. Relativism contends that all conduct is relative to the circumstance. Thus, each individual must decide what is moral or immoral in a given situation. Ultimately, every man is his own judge of the matter*** Conscience: That faculty of the mind, or inborn sense of right and wrong, by which we judge of the moral character of human conduct. It is common to all men. Like all our other Faculties - it has been perverted by the Fall** It is spoken of as "Defiled" - ( Titus 1:15)It is spoken of as "Seared" - ( I Timothy 4:2 ). A "Conscience void of Offence" is to be Sought and Cultivated: ( Acts 24:16; Rom 9:1; IICor 1:12 ;1Tim 1:5,19; 1Pet 3:21)**Without Spiritual Illumination the Conscience becomes a "False Guide" / Biblical Truth becomes Ethical Relativism - And Obedience is measured on the Slide Rule of Rectitude****The Holy Spirit** Co-Regent of the Conscience : John XVI:VII The Conscience Renewer: Romans: XII:IIThe Conscience Washer - Titus III:VRom 9:1 - I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost...i.e."my conscience as quickened, illuminated, and even now under the direct operation of the Holy Ghost." John XVI: VIII - XIAnd when HE is come, HE will reprove/convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:Of sin, because they believe not on MEOf righteousness, because I go to my FATHER, and ye shall see ME no more;Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged!
