THE GREAT NEED OF THE CHURCH

sermonindex May 6, 2006

We put it as our most sober judgement that the great need of the Church in this and all ages is men of such commanding faith, of such unsullied holiness, of such marked spiritual vigor and consuming zeal, that their prayers, faith, lives, and ministry will be of such radical and aggressive form as to work spiritual revolutions which will form eras in individual and Church life.

Amen. And that means we need to be done with the world, and done with sin. We must stop looking like the world (in the way we dress) and sounding like the world (in the way we speak and in our choice of music and so on) and we need to set a new cultural standard that cuts right across today's secular self-gratifying and immodest standards.

For example, may God give us a revolution in modesty in the way women dress, especially in our churches. And may God deliver us from TV and movies.

Psalm 1: 1-2 "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night."

God bless,

Brian
