Greed

I find greed is becoming the monster of the church.
Students struggling because the universitys want more money.
There are so many examples in church and in the world!!
God get rid of all greed in me !!

I heard in one of Ravenbhill's sermons when he quotes what one of his fellow preachers who said" i looked for the church i found it in the world. I looked for the world i found it in the church. We need God's mercy and grace upon this age.

Sir, do you not think the root problem is PRIDE? Proverbs 16:18: "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." I undersrtand this to mean that PRIDE is the root of ALL sin. If you just think about it, how it is our ego that wants the preeminence in all things you can see the truthfulness of this verse. And greed will feed right into this.

Yes, I find pride at the root of all my temptations and sin when I yield. I want to be first, I want to be honored, I want to be better then anyone rather then hiding behind the Master and follow Him. Now that will be a sure enough ego-buster!

Pride and Greed, the evil twins, most destructive elements in life; from Lucifer throughout human history, perhaps that's why our Lord took the ways of humility and poverty to show us what the essence of true love entails.
