The church i attend is called the "Greek, Free Evangelical Church".....no association with the "Free Evangelical" camp either....the name is simply that we are Greek, FRee from a heirachy and Evangelical in "spreading the good news"....

having said that i myself am a "non-denominational" christian.

Sup Ash,
I'm a Melbornite too. I currently attend a Christian Outreach Centre in Mill Park, but it's more a case of being there as a catalyst for reformation than anything else. If you want to meet some "remnant" types in Sydney, GNN is having their Evangelism Boot Camp in Sydney Sept 6-10.

i think im going to throw up at all the idle chit chat about the stupid soccer.......urrrghhh

in the church, outside it, everywhere i go......

Im just listneing to Leonard Ravenhill and he said bak then something for us Aussies.

"There is more talk about the World Series in this week, than there is about whats coming up onto the nation. There is more interest in football now we are in the football season. I dont believe that ever as a nation been in a more serious situation than we are in tonight."
-Leonard Ravenhill

That is true for them back then and true for us today. Oh us aussies worshiping sport over our maker.......we need Jesus to wake us up like on the day of Pentecost 2000 years ago.

That quote above came from the "Travailing" (video) from Leonard Ravenhill.

God bless u all!

Amen to that!
It's crazy how so many people can get so fired over a bunch of people kicking a bit of leather around a paddock!
If only the Church was as fired up about Jesus and his coming kingdom!!!

I was disscussing this with a brother the other day, we came to the conclusion, that God has given everyody the desire to be a part of something significant, which is bigger than themselves, and for many people this happens to be a footbal team, but idealy we will satisfy this God-given desire if we live for the kingdom of God!!

I greives me that people will happily stay up to 2 in the morning to watch football, but when it comes to prayer, it is not long before sleep becomes a haven. (I recognise my own weakness in this area)
I wonder how it must greive the Lord, when he sees his bride stick posters of soccer teams, "superstars" and various other Idols on their doorposts, instead of his commands.

Deut.6“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7“You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8“You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9“You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Anyway, that's my 2 bob's worth on the soccer.

Mercy triumphs over judgment!
Praise the Lord!
