another good book is The New Covenant Unveiled by David Wilkerson (you can tell he has been reading A.W.Tozer)

Just wanted to comment real quick on some stuff Greg recommended, cause I was looking at his list again this morning.I've read a bit of Ambrose, along with Augustine and Basil - very good stuff if you can aclimate to that level of reading. I'm a bit of a philosophy buff, and I like the old classics. If you're used to reading the Bible in old King James English, then it's pretty easy to pick up this type of literature.I would HIGHLY recommend ANYTHING by EM Bounds for EVERY Christian. He wrote 9 books in his life, and 7 were on prayer. Bro Ravenhill was a very big fan of his writing.I've read a few accounts of David Brainerd, and can relate to his struggles because I have a depressive disorder myself. Alot of what was written about him came from Jonathan Edwards, whos sermons I really like also.Samuel Chadwick was Leonard Ravenhill's teacher when he was in college in England, and a mighty man of prayer. Since he was an influence on Bro Len, I would recommend any of his works.I've read some really awesome stories about Payson that were similar to some of the accounts I've come across concerning John Hyde. Both of these men are mentioned by EM Bounds in his book Power Through Prayer, if I remember correctly.
