"And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision."
I got a letter from an organisation recently which told of the great need of Bibles in Asia. The letter went on to tell of a couple that had recently come to faith in Christ and how they were strengthend in their faith by daily reading the word of God.
The letter went on to tell how this couple's faith was soon challenged when the father of the man kicked them out of the home and then used his influence to get his son fired.
I thought I'd share with you all here a portion of this story where it picks up from there, in italics:
[i]But Mahabala's father made an offer: If they would reject Jesus and return to their old religion, he would give them 400,000 rupees - the equivalent of 18 months of Mahabala's previous salary. When Mahabala didn't respond, his fahter increased his offer to 1 million and later 2 million rupees. Yet Mahabala and Nitara decided to hold firm in their faith, even if it meant living in poverty.
May we all be daily so faithfull.
