Why does Leonard Ravenhill despise envagelicals so much? On some of his sermons his talks about evangelicals and says they are money making frauds and show-offs.

I belong to an evangelical church, and it is not about money. If Leonard is right, then you could say the same thing for the load of full-time pastors. You could get angry at them for getting money to preach God's Word. The fact is, everyone needs some sort of money to live.

I suppose no-one can really tell me Leonard's feelings, unless they know a bit more than I do, which isn't much! But I did feel slightly offended because he does put down evangelicals quite a lot.

Brother, are you confusing evangelicals with charismatics? Ravenhill never made a blanket statement (at least not one I've heard of) about any one Protestant group. Btw, when you say "evangelical", which denomination(s) are you refering to? The term is quite broad.

I am part of The Slade Evangelical Church, Plumstead, England.

We are non-conformist. I don't know much else because all the church denominations confuse me!

Basically Ravenhill mentioned evangelicals in passing in one of his sermons available on SI called 'Weeping.' I cannot tell the exact words, not only in this sermon but also a few others he gives, and talks briefly on many occassions about evangelicals being in it for the money and things like that.

I think you misunderstand. What Ravenhill despised was the cheap Christianity taught in some Evangelical denominations. (very broad) His heart was breaking for a revival of God's People to turn from their sins and serve God the way we are called to do.
