Man The Lifebelts! (The Angry Waves)

sermonindex Jul 22, 2006

Man The Lifebelts
(The Angry Waves)

A sinner is sinking deep in sin
The angry waves are billowing around him
O help! help! O Lord even if you are there
O help! O help!
A Christian came along in a boat who knew the man.
Instead of throwing him a lifebelt, he cut the rope
After all, didn't he (the sinner) deserve to get punished
How dare he behave like that
He knew the sinner well, he knew the wickedness of his heart
He was glad that he was not like that
And so the sinner cried even the more O help help
Even he couldn't say Lord anymore because now all he had left was the power of thought
He was suffering so much under the waves were getting the better of him. He was getting dizzy and was drifting in and out of consciousness.
The thought was coming to him 'give up give up you can't fight it now sleep in the ocean, sleep.
But the Lord heard his cry. With a gentle hand He reached out to him and rescued him, set his feet on solid ground.
This is not a story. It has happened to me many times. Even though I cried out and recognised my sin, recognised I was wrong there was none to help. I sought the Lord and He heard my cry. The conventional attitude is to cut off from those who are suffering to after all show them no compassion because they simply don't deserve it.
Is this you?

There’s a call comes ringing over the restless wave,
“Send the light! Send the light!”
There are souls to rescue there are souls to save,
Send the light! Send the light!

Refrain

Send the light, the blessèd Gospel light;
Let it shine from shore to shore!
Send the light, the blessèd Gospel light;
Let it shine forevermore!

We have heard the Macedonian call today,
“Send the light! Send the light!”
And a golden offering at the cross we lay,
Send the light! Send the light!

Refrain

Let us pray that grace may everywhere abound,
“Send the light! Send the light!”
And a Christlike spirit everywhere be found,
Send the light! Send the light!

Refrain

Let us not grow weary in the work of love,
“Send the light! Send the light!”
Let us gather jewels for a crown above,
Send the light! Send the light!

Refrain

Thankyou so Much!
So great to get a reply
This after reading William Branham's 'Court Trial in which he reads from Jesus appearing to his disciples upbraiding them for their what? sin? No. Hardness of heart and unbelief. See Williambranham.com I think
