Earlier I was playing bass in my room for the song 'One Pure and Holy Passion' by Mark Altrogge... and as I sang along I kept on going and sang a verse that wasn't on the page when I looked down... I went online to check if the verse existed anywhere and I can't find anything like it anywhere... (I'm thinking it might be part of another song that was used in a medley I might have heard) I’m wondering whether I’m going crazy or I just made the verse up in my head!? Can anyone help...
The song normally goes as follows:
D F#/C# Bm Bm/A
Give me one pure and holy passion
G\t Em Asus A
Give me one magnificent obsession
D F#m Bm Bm/A
Jesus, give me one glorious ambition for my life
G A D
To know and follow hard after You.
D F#m G D
To know and follow hard after You
D F#m G D
To grow as Your disciple in the truth
Bm F#m
This world is empty, pale, and poor
Bm E
Compared to knowing You, my Lord
G G/A D
Lead me on and I will run after You
(TO WHICH I FOLLOWED)
D F#m/C# B Bm/A
There is no other life worth living
G Em Asus A
Than the one surrendered to be given
D F#m
To the one who has suffered through~
Bm Bm/A
the pain of sin and death
G A D
I want to live my life just for You
(I usually end up speeding through or mumblings the third line, which leads me to believe I made it up or have changed some of the key words)
