This video reminds me of what Jesus taught in Luke 17 – about him coming like a huge lightening flash.

24For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other . ….

Of course, from the context it is obvious who are taken. These words speak of judgment:

26"Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.

28"It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. 29But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.

It seems to me that IN THE SAME WAY refers to judgment: Those who are taken are the unbelievers – just like what happened in the flood, and in Sodom.

"It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. 31On that day no one who is on the roof of his house, with his goods inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything. 32Remember Lot's wife! 33Whoever tries to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
34I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. 35Two women will be grinding grain together; ,one will be taken and the other left."

What I like about this clip is that only a few remain. That would be in harmony with what Jesus said: “The way is narrow and FEW find it.” Few are spared from the judgment – in comparison to the many who follow the broad road.

“Many will say, Lord, Lord…”

In the clip I see the many(those taken) as the unsaved ones and the few (those left behind) as the saved ones.

i think you will find that those who were left behind in the church were those who called themselves christians but were not.

As the video showed the man falling to his knees knowing what had happened and the truth was out about him not being one of Christ's.

That's the way I see it anyway. Those tares that will get thrown into the fire on Judgment Day will be our family members, relatives, friends, collegues....

...very short, yet powerful indeed. Hopefully, it'll get people thinking more about eternity which seems to be the point...good quality video as well. Interesting fact: Last night, the moon was the colour red in my district; however, tonight it's back to it's normal colour again. God's word will come to pass for the sake of His Great Name. Let all His children continually trust and obey Him regardless of their circumstances :-D

hi there diane, i think if you look further on in the passage (17: 34-36) you will see that Christ is saving his own.

Matthew Henry writes:

When God's judgments are laying all waste, he will take an effectual course to preserve those that are his, by remarkable providences distinguishing between them and others that were nearest to them: two in a bed, one taken and the other left; one snatched out of the burning and taken into a place of safety, while the other is left to perish in the common ruin.

We can see that we are snatched from burning while others are left behind in their ruin.

He also goes on to say:

Note, Though the sword devours one as well as another, and all things seem to come alike to all, yet sooner or later it shall be made to appear that the Lord knows them that are his and them that are not, and how to take out the precious from the vile.

He quite clealy takes his own from those who are not his.

Hi, Dave, I looked at vs 34 – 36 I can't see who are taken away and where they are taken. So that’s why I used the context of the chapter to draw my conclusions (as they say, “context is king”) It would seem that Jesus is warning that time will run out: judgment will take people away very suddenly and very unexpectedly (just as in the days of Noah)

Regardless of theological trends, we'd agree that judgment is clearly a key topic all through scripture. The day will come when the opportunity to repent will no longer be available. Each day is a gift of God’s mercy.

While I look forward to the Lord’s return, I am also sobered by the reality that so many do not yet know him. So I plead for his mercy to triumph over judgment.

The video is a good reminder that time will indeed run out.

All debates about the rapture aside...that was pretty cool. I think I'm going to watch it again.

I realise this completely unhinges your hitherto reading, but, I put it to you that mine is also consistent with scripture, in that if the few who are saved rise in the air to be in the Lord as He returns, then there will be many left, who will fall by His sword.... which ties in with Rev 19:15.

... And yet the good fish were separated out from the pile of fish…..

Another verse says that “the angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous, and throw them into the fiery furnace..” …. Matt. 13:50

So who really gets separated out from whom? Perhaps order is irrelevant in God’s time frame. Christ’s return and his judgment seem to be the same event –the final harvest. "Let them both grow until the harvest." Matt. 13:30

Anyway, I looked at the video again and liked it for its surprise element. It is gripping.
