does anybody know what Leonard Ravenhill's prayer meetings were like? Did he have music going on in the background? Did they all pray together at once? Did they pray individually and agree? Just curious if anybody knows. Thanks :-)

I am curious about the meetings I have heard about where everyone is praying different things aloud at the same time. If anyone has any experienced this type of prayer meeting I would like to hear your take on it.
I just noticed nobody responded to the questions above. I am interested to know how was the praying meeting like in Bro Len's praying meeting. How did they conduct their prayer meeting?
Reply to praying aloud all together: Korean way of praying is this way - everyone praying their own prayer request aloud all at the same time. Its distracting at first but as you go on, you get comfortable.
I don't know how Brother Len's prayer meetings went. In our fellowship, it's generally only one person praying at a time. That way we can come into an agreement with the Holy Spirit and oftentimes there is a deeper revelation of what God wants to do.
We have prayer in a circle one hour before each service and each person simply prays as the Holy Spirit leads. It's been a real blessing to me.
Sorry I diverted off the topic but praying together is very powerful, particularly when we come into agreement in the Spirit with what the Holy Spirit wants to be prayed...
I wrote this already on my testimony from the prayer and revival conference but I figured I would just answer the question I had on here as well:
I got the opportunity to meet a brother by the name of Mack Tomlinson at the heartcry prayer and revival conference. At the conference I asked him if he had ever been in a prayer meeting with Leonard Ravenhill. He said, "I was in prayer meetings with Leonard for about 7 years." So I couldn't help but ask him exactly what it was like. He shared by saying that there would usually be 80-100 people that would come and pray and it would start with them singing hymns. Then after singing, Leonard would preach a bit, then he would begin praying and then others would pray. Every now and again Leonard would pray again and they would just continually pray.

in our church we come together with prayer request and the pastor gives a time of teaching and then we all kneel and pray our own prayers at the same time. we are all taking part and praying. some at the altar some at the seat some walking around some laying face down on the floor.
then before we leave we sometimes pray in a circle with one person leading it!
we are all there to pray...so that's what we do!
This message was delivered at the "last" prayer meeting before they broke it up and had all the people praying seperately. I believe he mentions how long they have been praying for in year duration in this message also;
It was Leoard Ravenhill's custom to preach for about 1 hour and then pray I am sure more for the prayer meetings.

Today, I have read all the post about Leonard Ravenhill. I never heard of him before I joined sermonindex a little over a month ago. The more I read and listen to the more I respect. As for prayer, I find it quite interesting to learn or share how other people pray.
Roman, mentioned Koreans and the way they pray together. It is something to witness to. At first it is a little overwhelming, but now I have come to look for it when visiting churches.
Some scream and yell at the top of their lungs. Some pray for hours on end. It makes me hungry for Jesus.
Hopefully, all Christians invoke an appetite for Jesus.

i sometimes have prayer meetings in my own home and sometimes i go to others , we circle around the neighborhoods, in our homes... we start by reading a chapter, talking about its meaning and so on, we talk about this for about 30 min, its good to put a limit so that important time for prayer don't waste away, then we mostly "target pray" for instance i will say id like prayer for this...and i pray for that and then the others one at a time.... wile one is praying the others mumble in prayer and sometimes a amen and a hallelujah comes and some loud yes lord and so on.... agreeing in what is being prayed out loud, and when we prayed that one thing we move on to the next...sometimes the spirit leads to only pray about one single thing at one meeting.. sometimes a lot of things... sometimes everyone prays togheter crying out to God,
Just for definitions sake, some prayer meetings and styles are referred to as "concert prayer." Because in such meetings, everybody prays at once however they feel like. People are generally scattered all around the room. Some are laying prostrate on the ground, others sitting in pews, others walking the isles, etc.
At my church we start prayer meetings off by making requests known to everybody, then go ahead and break up across the sanctuary and pray for about 30-45 minutes by ourselves "in concert." Then we come together in a circle and share further burdens, and pray for those needs. If somebody wants special prayer, we anoint them with oil and lay hands on them and pray. After this we sometimes take turns praying out loud individually. And lately, as the Lord has led us, we open up our hearts and share whatever word God has placed on our hearts to share, one by one. Sometimes this is a general exhortation, a short teaching, a prophetic word, etc. This has been our prayer format for our Friday meetings, and generally lasts about 2 hours with anywhere from 5-10 people. They have been a real blessing.
