You lived next door to me for years.
We shared our dreams, our joys and tears.
A friend to me you were indeed;
A friend who helped me when in need.

What sadness then I’ve come to find
That after all you weren’t so kind!
The day my life on earth did end

For all those years we spent on earth,
You never talked of "second birth."

And of the Christ who’d make me whole!

Yet another post that has been overlooked, but it is poignant.

Here is a little story for you.

A man visited his daughter to see his new grandaughter, who was now three months old.

His daughter and her husband were both Christians and their daughter would be brought up in the things of God.

The grandfather, an ungodly man, said to the parents, 'Remember, she has a choice'.

The couple did not comment. The grandfather continued.

'When I was 7 years old, I used to go to church with my mother, and I hated it'

Time went by.

The grandaughter grew up, and at 18 she was still, voluntarily, attending church, reading the bible, generally, living the Christian life.

The grandfather died at the age of 77. He never repented. He is now in hell, in torment, for all eternity.

Is that story true or false?

True.

The grandfather was my father, so naturally the grandaughter is my daughter who is now 18 and serving God.

It was not that my father did not know, he knew, but he didn't want to know.

He had 70 years to decide for or against God.

He decided against.

Don't make the same mistake.

Tell everyone you love and hate about the coming judgment. Yes, even those who persecute you.

They can only destroy your body, let your soul belong to God. God bless.

Not true. No replies doesn't mean that no-one has taken interest. I read it, and it challenged me, but I didn't feel the need to reply.

The truth is, by us not telling people we know about the coming judgement, we in effect are not caring about their eternal state. We think that because we are going to heaven everything is fine and ok. It might be ok for us, but it isn't for our mates that we haven't told.

Lord, give us courage to speak Your Word and see souls saved for You. Give us such a passion for You that we don't care what reception we get when we tell people about You.

The question: Do most [if any] folk see enough in us of union with the Lord Jesus that they would even ask?

I have spend about 20 minutes online looking for an old hymn called "You never mentioned Him to me." It is really good. If someone finds it please post it in this thread.

I don't know all of the hymn but I think it goes something like this:

When in the better land before the bar we stand

How deeply grieved our souls may be

If any lost one there should cry in deep despair

You never mentioned Him to me.

.......................?

Chrous:

You never mentioned Him to me

You helped me not the light to see.

You met me day by day and knew I was astray,

Yet you never mentioned Him to me.
