Behold the Lamb of God

C
ChrisJD Sep 18, 2006

Dear brothers and sisters, do you have a verse, a word, or perhaps a prayer that you would like to share with us, that will draw our hearts and focus our gaze upon the Lord Jesus? Let us encourage each other and be renewed in our hearts and minds and spirits as we behold and exalt our King.

Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

I have a cd called The Bride's Anthem. It is a 'Praying the Bible' cd. The first track is called 'the unveiling of Jesus' and is Revelation Chapter 1:1-7.
It has great music of strings and bells and a choir singing "Ah ah ah ah ah" and the words spoken are: 'The Revelation of Jesus Christ, the Supernatural unveiling of the Splendor of the Son of God to His Bride, to awaken her heart in love. the Great Gift of God to the Church through the ages, the displaying of His Son. The Overwhelming Beauty made known to the sons of men on the earth. the Revelation which God gave to show the servants of the Lord the Beauty of the Son. Blessed is the one who reads, blessed are any of those that hear, those that keep the things revealed in the Glorious Unveiling of the Son of God, the Revelation of Christ Jesus.
For the time is near, Grace unto you O bride of Jesus Christ, Glorious Peace from Him who sits upon the Throne, from the Spirit of God, and from the Holy Bridegroom Christ Jesus, the Faithful Witness, the Ruler over all the kings of the earth. Arise O bride for He has made you a King and a Priest unto His Father, standing at His Side in time and eternity.
Know this, He is Coming, Oh Yes, surely He is coming, He is coming on the clouds, before all the nations of the earth. every eye will see Him. the Saints will be filled with marvel, the rebellious will tremble with terror, all the tribes of the earth they will tremble, they will mourn when they see Him who they have pierced. Even so, Amen and Amen.'

What an Awesome picture of Jesus!

And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Hi MSeaman, definitely some things to meditate on here! This CD sounds interesting :-)

Then Jesus said unto them,

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

Then said they unto him,

Lord, evermore give us this bread.

And Jesus said unto them,

I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

This is one of my favorite songs. It is based on Revelation 5.

There Stood A Lamb
Words and music by Ray Boltz

He was standing in Heaven
With tears in his eyes
Saying, 'Tell me this isn't so.'
For there was no one in Heaven
And no one on earth
Worthy to open the scroll
Then one of the elders
Said, 'John don't you cry'
It was all part of the plan
Then in the center
Of God's Glorious Throne
Hallelujah, there stood a Lamb

And they sang Worthy
Worthy of Honor and Praise
They were casting down crowns
And praising His Name
When He cried, 'Who is Worthy?'
I can hear Jesus saying, I am
Oh, praise God, forever
There stood a Lamb

Now open your Bible
Open your eyes
It's clear we are in last days
And he said 'I'll come quickly'
So don't be surprised
When he comes back to take us away
And feeble excuses won't get very far
When you find yourself
There at His Throne
If you know Jesus
And He is your Lord
Hallelujah, you won't be alone

And we'll sing Worthy
Worthy of Honor and Praise
We'll be casting down crowns
And praising His Name
When He says, are you worthy?
I can hear Jesus saying, I am
Oh, praise God, forever
There stood a Lamb

And we'll sing Worthy
Worthy of Honor and Praise
As we cast down our crowns
We'll be praising his name
When He says, are you worthy?
I can hear Jesus saying, I am
Oh, praise God, forever
Praise God, forever
Praise God, forever
There stood a Lamb

And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying,

Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus. And Jesus answered them, saying,

Revelation 7:9-11 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)
Public Domain

9After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,

Revelation 4 KJV
1After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
2And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and One sat on the throne.
3And He that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
4And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
5And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
6And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
7And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
8And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, LORD God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
9And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,
10The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?

Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm...the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

...no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.

I come to the Light

Lord I humble myself and pray
Lord I humble myself and pray
I will seek Your face, and turn from my ways
I will seek Your face, and turn from my wicked ways

Lord bring the breaking
Please hear my cry
Shake all that can be shaken
And heal the land that’s dry

Lord I come to the light, confess that I need You
Lord I come to the light, confess that I’m poor
Lord I come to the light, confess that I’m wretched and blind

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Lamb of God, Our souls adore Thee by James G. Deck

Lamb of God! Our souls adore Thee
While upon Thy face we gaze;
There the Father’s love and glory
Shine in all their brightest rays;
Thine almighty power and wisdom
All creation’s works proclaim;
Heaven and earth alike confess Thee
As the ever great “I AM.”

Lamb of God! Thy Father’s bosom
Ever was Thy dwelling place;
His delight, in Him rejoicing,
One with Him in power and grace;
Oh, that wondrous love and mercy—
Thou didst lay Thy glory by,
And for us didst come from Heaven,
As the Lamb of God, to die!

Lamb of God! When we behold Thee
Lowly in the manger laid,
Wandering as a homeless stranger
In the world Thy hands had made;
When we see Thee in the garden,
In Thine agony of blood,
At Thy grace we are confounded,
Holy, spotless, Lamb of God!

When we see Thee, as the Victim,
Bound for us upon the tree,
For our guilt and folly stricken,
All our judgment born by Thee—
Lord, we own, with hearts adoring,
Thou hast loved us unto blood:
Glory, glory everlasting,
Be to Thee, Thou Lamb of God!

Lamb of God, Thou soon in glory
Will to this sad earth return;
All Thy foes shall quake before Thee,
All that now despise Thee mourn;
Then Thy saints all gathered to Thee,
With Thee in Thy kingdom reign;
Thine the praise and Thine the glory,
Lamb of God, for sinners slain.
