A tower of Babble???

T

My husband and I recently decided to stop having home fellowship and head back to our local church. I have to say, that it has been so HARD!! I'm a Christian, I love the Lord, but I'm losing it!! I've been to a few churches and really went back with an open heart and mind, but nothing has changed!!

Through this site and mostly seeking the Lord, I've really sensed an "awakening" among the true bride and was hopeful that church would be alittle different from the last time I left. Well, I was dead wrong. It's like absolutly nothing changed... maybe it was even worse!!! My husband and I just sat there today in complete amazment as we watched people convulsing on the floor and speaking in "tounges." It was like a 3 ring circus!!! It was scary to say the least!! Now, I know that there are genuine moves of the spirit and people may seem alittle strange, but what we witnessed at this church had absolutly nothing to do with glorifing Christ!!

Today, I just cried out to God and felt so frustrated. I want to see Him glorified, I'm sick of all the foolishness and junk that goes on in His name. As I cried out to Him, He spoke so tenderly to my heart. He told me first, that I was more concerned than He was! He reminded me of the tower of babble. He wasn't fretting and wringing His hands, worring about their foolishness... NO!! He was laughing at them!! And when God decided to put an end to all of it... IT WAS OVER!!! He will only let foolish men get so far!! And just when it seems like their going to complete their mission, He just breaths a breath from His nostril and topples the entire display!!! With ONE breath... it will all be destroyed!!! Praise God!!

The other thing He told me was that He allows us to see certain things, not to critisize or gossip, but to intercede. Everyone around me just thinks the pastor is great and the church is so wonderful. I started to feel like there was something wrong with me, like maybe I was just too critical. Or maybe I was becoming too cynical, but He just reassured me that He has given me His heart and His eyes. That I really do see things that others are blind to. That doesn't mean that I have a special gift of discernment, it just means that I need to PRAY!! Pray for every lost person in that church to see the truth!! He will destroy all the works of the flesh, so we need to pray for every lost person to wake up before they are crushed in the falling tower of babble!!

I sense the same calling. I ran away from the church because it seemed so far out of touch with what the Scriptures teach. I looked for the perfect church and found little. Then the Lord took me to Revelation 2 and 3, and the condition of the churches. I then understood that perfection was not what this section of Scripture taught.

Now instead of running away, I believe we are called to minister within these churches. This is the battle, we fight not with flesh and blood but with the powers that are not seen.

Love is longsuffering, patient, and kind. This the Lord will do if we are not afraid to enter into the battle...

God Bless
In Christ

Praise God indeed, so sorry to know the state of 'churches' in New England, we left New Hampshire 17 years ago and kept thinking New England still has great churches, unlike where we are now. I guess it's the same everywhere.

I believe that the hour is even later than we might think.

Rom 11:5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Rev 11:13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Dan 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.

The time is quickly coming when the denominational church system will crumble, and God will "call out" a "remnant" that will be the true Church in the last times. We can see this all over the world, as churches compromise, and fall into worldliness. This worldly "church" becomes the co-conspirator with the antichrist, and the false prophet. Gods true Church will, under the power of Gods Holy Spirit, do a mighty work in the harvest of the end days, bringing many to true faith..

Dan 11:32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. Dan 11:33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many:yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.

tinluke, based on what you descrobed in your post it looks like you went back to the wrong church.
I am very familiar with home fellowships been in a few and helped lead one. I know the struggle of "going back to a regular church" I know it's very hard to find a good fellowship.

You should try difrrent types.
God bless, John

It's true the condition of the church in New England is pretty sad however, I do believe there are still good churches out there... somewhere. I just haven't been able to find one yet!!

I thank all of you for your replys! It's so good to know that in the midst of all the foolishness there is a true remnant who is totaly surrendered to HIM. I will continue to seek HIM and pray that He will lead me in the right direction.

Love,

Tina

And when you find it, would you mind coming back here and share that info with us?

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

If we walk out on them . . . what about their souls?

Ginnyrose,

I'd be more than happy to let you all know when I have it all figured out...lol!! But that will be in heaven, so I guess we'll all find out together when we're in glory with the KING!! AMEN!!

That's why we need each other so much! We all see such a small peice, that's why it's so important that we share what we
have. And that's why I love this site and the brothers and sisters here!!

Until, we know what to do and where to go it's always a good idea to pray. Pray and seek HIM. Like Heartsong, said "what about their souls." I am burdened for the condition of the church, like many here. I think many of us went out to the "wilderness" and got alone with God. Now it may be time to go back and take back what the enemy thinks is his!! Maybe we could just go back on Sundays to pray and interceed on behalf of our lost brothers and sisters!! Pray that God will once again clense the alter. Tear down all the idles that have been brought in and drive out every false teacher, preacher and prophet!!!

Tinluke, You entitled your thread most appropriately, because, really that is what churches like you describe really are: people uniting to build their own kingdom without God.

I marvel at God’s solution for the ancient Babel project: He scattered them! And I think that is exactly what he is still doing to man’s religious projects. When the people are scattered, the entire system falls apart. Unholy rituals cease. (Imagine trying to do some of that “worship” alone without the building, the music, and the people.)

It would not be surprising if the church you speak of will experience a scattering in the future. For one thing, spiritual growth and maturity is not a priority. So there is bound to be dissention, squabbles etc.

You may not be called to fix or tear down anything, but to simply wait and watch the drama unfold. In the mean time, God may lead you to minister to various people who are getting very discouraged, maybe coming out of the system, and needing encouragement to seek God instead of all that religious stuff. (That's the way it worked for me)

Isn’t it wonderful that we are not left to figure out our steps on our own. Our Lord directs our paths. And he is building HIS Church, we can be sure of that!

Diane
