What do preachers have to do to 'get out the way' if you like, and allow God to be everything in the preaching? Any thoughts much appreciated.
The true prophets:
2Pe 1:20: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Pe 1:21: For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
The false prophets:
2Pe 2:18: For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
2Pe 2:19: While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption; for whom a man is overcome, of the same is the same is he brought in bondage.
But, let us first, again... "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it" - Matt 16:24-25
It has been said that even preaching can result in "dead works" :-o
God bless you with Himself, preparing you in hiddenness, as a Master Potter prepares His worthy vessel for His purpose...
