How to deal with wrong feelings

sermonindex Sep 29, 2006

Without going into a really detailed discussion, I wanted to ask a question which I require assistance with.

I like a girl and she isn't a Christian. So how do I deal with these feelings in a Godly way? Is it wrong that I feel like this?

I know it says in the Bible, 'Do not be unequally yolked.' and I don't intend to be. But help in dealing with feelings would be much appreciated.

I also hope moderator that this isn't an inapporpriate discussion? If it is then I apologise.

Dear richardf,
"Why" are you attracted to an unbelieving girl, and what makes her so attractive to you?
Let all of God's children grow in the grace and in the knowledge of "His" will.

I think it would be possible to be attracted to a girl that is not a Christian, but not for Godly reasons.

I would suggest just avoiding the sight of her as much as you can. Fill your time with things, try your best not to just sit idle and the feelings will pass! :-)

Hi brother,

What I'm about to say is not some kinda formula that will solve your problem. Nevertheless the key behind conquering this attraction is faith. Only by faith in God can you over come this ordeal, and that is what it will become if not dealt with quickly.

I to am tempted in areas such as this but when the attack comes on I rebuke it in the name of Jesus. But unless I have complete faith in the delivering power of Jesus' name, it will not work.

Hope this helps, bro Doug
