I am 22 yrs old, and I am in a relationship that is for the long haul. As I greatly value all of your opinions, what are some books that I should read, or we should read together that would help us as we prepare for our life and ministry together. Thank you in advance.LA Holmes

Two by Elisabeth Elliot come to mind right away: Passion and PurityQuest for LoveThere are a few more that I can't recall right off the top of my head, but I'll have more suggestions for you as well.I am also of the opinion that if you know the relationship is in for the long haul, you would be best advised to focus a greater deal of your reading on deeper Christian books than books on "relationships," although those should be mixed in as well. I do think that the deeper life books have a way of bringing out more than most relationship books.

The two Jason suggested are excellent. Also excellent are: "The Mark of a Man" (for guys) and "Let Me Be a Woman." Both are by Elisabeth Elliot. These are great for anyone getting ready for marriage.

Another one that is more psychologically-minded is The Five Love Languages by Dr. Gary Chapman. It looks at different styles of communication in a relationship and may be helpful. I will add more as I recall them.

Yes, I would also recommend Passion and Purity as well as Making a Love That Lasts: How to Find Love without Settling for Sex by Jacob Aranza. You can probably find both of these books at Amazon.com.

The Bible, daily. No kidding. The closer each mate draws to Jesus the closer you draw to each other.
