The eternal Gospel; Fear God and Give Him glory

Revelation 14:6,7 "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the "everlasting gospel" to preach unto them that dwell on the earth.....saying with a loud voice,FEAR GOD, and GIVE GLORY TO HIM, for the hour of His judgment is come,and WORSHIP HIM that made heaven, and the earth and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

FEAR GOD...GIVE GLORY TO HIM....WORSHIP HIM.

The inabinlity for us to proclaim the "whole counsel of God" has left us unable to reconcile love and fear of God. Yet fearing him is something we are commanded to do in the "eternal Gospel" it is part of the Gospel we are to preach.

Most humans are repelled by the command to fear God. Many years ago we had some simple sighns. One of them said "FEAR GOD" simple yet it would get more people to stop and come over to ask why should I fear God? I'm not going to fear God.

For a simple study type in fear God on your bible scriptue concordance. start to see what this means.

Finally the most important thing about this is this. Some will be tempted to post "we are to love God not fear him, youve got it all wrong." Well my response is we are to LOVE God and Fear him. We cannot choose sides on this. That has been the problem with many of these discussions. christians get on one side or the other and dig in their heals and tell the other come to this side....tug of war. Thats not Pauls goal for us. But rather to speak and be of the same mind and judgment. God bless, John

GIVE GLORY TO HIM! What does this mean and how do we do it? One way I do this is by my obedience to him. This testifies and glorifies God in heaven. Whenever I get a compliment about my "good behavior" I will often say if you see anything good in me it's because of what Jesus has done in me, He gets the glory! I also remember complimenting a pastor several years back. Yet he would always defer the compliment to God. He would say something like Praise God give glory to God.
However the majority of the unsaved want to glorify themselves and boast in their own acheivments. One more sighn of sinful rebellion. We want to exhalt the creature rather than the creator.

Next WORSHIP HIM! Oh how we who are born again love to worship and adore him! Yet the unsaved scoff! "Worship God?" Why should I have to worship God?"

God has a reason for every command. He knows that the very best thing for our lives is to put Him first! Fear God , Give Glory to Him, and Worship him! Amen!
