Saints, Greg, Mike, I regularly receive an email newsletter from a dear old pastor, Glenn Adkins, a street pastor with a guitar and an oxygen tank, bad legs, bad car, but he just keeps going on the Lord's work. I personally vouch for his faithfulness to Jesus. He used to pastor the Topanga church until the hellish leadership there put him out, (which has happened to quite a few pastors there, including a protege of Jack Hayford's, and also one of my friends and brothers, Bob).....Im gonna paste the eletter he sent to me, if its okay. This is a humble saint laboring for Christ:

Hello to all my friends: We got to see our new Great Granddaughter Ava last week and boy is she beautiful. She was born to Sherri’s daughter Crystal. It’s our first grandchild.
God provided for Frankie and I to go on a Cruise Ship for our 45th wedding Anniversary from Sept. 18th until Sept. 22nd. Close to 20 people connected to our church also went.
We had a short service each evening after dinner that brought a time of singing and teaching. It was very refreshing compared to our first time on Sept. 11th 2001, which rocked the whole world with the terrorist attacks on our Country. At that time we docked in Catalina on 9/13th 2001 where I sang The Star Spangled Banner to cheering crowds of people on the ocean front walkways, starving for something patriotic, followed by several hours of gospel songs. The following month I was back there singing and handing out tracts again for three days. People begged me to come back when I could.
This time, on Sept. 20th 2006, we went ashore, and I stood at the intersection of the Pier and the oceanfront Walkway where I was in 2001 and began singing and handing out tracts. My friend, Ken East, was to my left also handing out tracts. My Pastor, Eric Hoerger, was sitting on a bench to my right. After doing this for about an hour and a half a young female L.A. County Sheriff’s Deputy and a fellow gentleman approached me and said I couldn’t hand out any material. When I asked if that included Christian Tracts she said “yes.” I said something like “Who made that stupid law?” and she said “The City Council.” I replied that that kind of stuff was a big part of the problem happening across the USA. That is infringing upon the Religious Freedom and Speech Rights in the public Market Place that is slowly spreading across America. Just think; the power of the City Council can do such a dangerous job of eroding Constitutional guarantees of Freedom of Speech and Religion. That kind of tactic is the same tactics used by Communistic and dictatorial regimes around the world to squash out Christianity. The eventual strategy of God-haters is to force the Christians from doing anything publicly, making its practice illegal.
At the time this took place I was on Oxygen and had only a small amount left to finish the Cruise, and I did want to stay with Frankie since it was our anniversary, but I was tempted to let them arrest me. The Officer said I would have to apply for some kind of City Permit. In 1986 I was singing and handing out tracts in Taos, New Mexico at a large celebration downtown. Music and vendors were all over the place, catering to hundreds of locals and tourists. All kinds of people came up to me, thanking me and tacking my tracts. Even the local Police officers were friendly and thanking me. Then a big man who happened to be the head of police sent a trembling little officer up to me and said his ‘Boss’ told him to tell me I couldn’t do what I was doing without a permit. I looked over to ‘The Boss’ who stood over 50 feet away, glaring at me. I obeyed him and stopped, but later tried to find him to find out how to get a permit. When I finally found him I asked how to get one. He said he is the only one who gives them out and he would not allow me to get one, as if I was some kind of criminal.
I plan to get hold of Jay Sekulow’s Org. , A Center for Law and Justice, which deals with Free Speech and Religious Freedom in America to let him know of these latest developments. His Organization is the Christians’ answer to the ACLU.
In the meantime, I plan on reaching out on the streets of America with the Gospel as I can.
Latest on My Geo Tracker: After having the Tranny rebuilt, and extensive Electrical Rewiring, I had to replace the Battery and Starter, The Timing Belt, and both front hubs to make the Four/wheel Drive work again. Over $4,000 repairs on the replacement vehicle I bought last February. Finally, after getting my car going again, Frankie’s car, the 1994 Ford Escort had a valve and engine burnout. We can’t afford to get her another car yet, so until then I have to be her transportation to and from work, making it almost impossible to go off the mountain to do outreach. Please join me in prayer for God’s provision in this area. In the meantime I continue to be quite busy here in Big Bear.Last week Frankie and I went with Pastor Eric and his wife to Topanga Canyon to visit our daughter Christine. Pray that she will make some life-changing decisions in the near future. I believe God has some great things for her to share some day with a lot of hurting people, but some things are holding her back. We had some great prayer with her while there. We are gearing up now for a big outreach on Halloween in Big Bear. Until next time, May God richly bless each one of you.
