I’ve notice that in Acts 19:5-6 that they received The Holy Spirit after being baptized by water, while in Acts 10:47 they were baptized after receiving the Holy Spirit. One thing is for sure, only those who believe in God’s Son (The biblical Jesus Christ) receive God’s Spirit.
Maybe the reason I’m sharing this is that some have been known to say that you have to be baptized by water before you can receive the Holy Spirit. Obviously it wasn’t the case in Acts 10:47 since they had received the Holy Spirit before being baptized by water.
Luke 11:9-13 (New King James Version)
“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
1 Corinthians 3:16 (New King James Version)
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
So those who ask receive. Indeed, some don’t know what their asking for but seeing that God is good He knows how to give good gifts to His children.
