I wanted to know if anyone knows a pre marriage-counselor in or closely around Tacoma, Wa.
I think it would be highly benefical for your pastor or elders from your local church to walk you through this process. It is important for the body of Christ to be involved in this process in my mind. Especially to the fact of the person that is counselling you that knows you from life experience and is not just some paid counsellor that is doing it for the fact of a "job". Just somthing to think about.
I agree with sermonindex's advice... he is right on.
Since I am in North Carolina I have no idea... but what I can recommend, which I think is a great idea, is take your fiance to a Family Life's Weekend To Remember. I took my wife to one, and there were a number of engaged couples there. If you're not familiar with Family Life, here is their link:

thank you guys. I would like to go to my pastor, but I am not comfortable with talking to him on a counseling level. He is very difficult to communicate with. I will look into those conferences and hopefully someday soon I will have a pastor who I can approach.
