The more churches try to be "culturally relevant" to the darkness, the more spiritual irrelevant they become. Trying to compete in the marketplace of appeals to the unregenerate nature is just bad business...when it comes to moral and spiritual indulgence, popular culture offers a far better product.
Mainline churches are shrinking because they offer things people already have enough of.
