Hell-Fire Preachers Needed
by brother Greg

A urgent message to a sleepy church and dying world

HOLY FIRE OR HELL FIRE

Either people have Holy Ghost fire or hell-fire. There are no other options in the economy of God. The way is narrow that leads to life but the way broad that leads to destruction. Never before in the history of the Church has their seemed to be "so few” on this narrow way. The way most Christians are living shows no reverence for a Holy God. It is either God’s holy habitation or hell as our habitation. Never has there been so much sinning against grace. If there is no alarm for converted sinners going to hell fire then they will perish. Christ was a city shaking, trumpet blasting hell fire preacher. He warned day and night of hell, judgement and the world to come. The life that is living in righteousness is an utter contradiction to sinners. Christ himself was a contradiction to a whole generation that was untoward, perverse and pleasure seeking.

Hell, the refuse dump, the mad house of the universe. Nothing is more terrible, nothing more fierce. Nothing can stop its terrible torments and fury. A Christ-less, God-less eternity eagerly awaits those that walk contrary to God, to His commandments. Oh Christian will you not think and meditate on this awful fact; millions are heading on this broad road as we speak. Hell yawns its mouth greedily to swallow this pleasure seeking, hedonist generation.

THE SAVIOURS CRY

The warnings of Christ are many! He does not relent in his crying out of the sober truth of judgement and hell. Will we stop our own ears to hear of these things? Will we heap to ourselves books, teachers and churches that will tickle our ears of good things when it is an hour of urgency? It is a crisis hour! This world is going to have Holy Ghost revival fire or Hell fire judgement. Hear the weight of the testimony of God in the gospel of Matthew the apostle of Christ. He records Christ’s warnings and indictments to obstinate sinners, religious legalists, and sleepy believers. May our Bible’s become tear soaked as we recount many of Christ’s impassioned plea’s about a hell that is eternal and a judgement that is absolute!

"For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of God.” -Matthew 5:20

"...but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell-fire.” -Matthew 5:22

"Because strait is the gate and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” -Matthew 7:14

"Every tree that beareth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.” -Matthew 7:19

"But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” -Matthew 8:12

"He that findeth his life shall lose it; and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.” -Matthew 10:39

"Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not.” -Matthew 11:20

"And thou Capernaum which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell.” -Matthew 11:23

"But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gommorah in the day of judgement, then for thee.” -Matthew 11:24

"He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me, scattereth abroad.” -Matthew 12:30

"But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement.” -Matthew 12:36

"...evil and adulterous generation.” -Matthew 12:39

"Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.” -Matthew 12:45

"And shall cast them into a furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” -Matthew 13:42

"And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” -Matthew 13:50

"Ye hypocrites...” -Matthew 15:7

"...wicked and adulterous generation.” -Matthew 16:4

"For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” -Matthew 16:26

"O faithless and perverse generation.” -Matthew 17:17

"...ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” -Matthew 18:3

"...it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.” -Matthew 18:8

"...be cast into hell fire.” -Matthew 18:9

"...a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.” -Matthew 19:23

"...for many are called but few chosen.” -Matthew 20:16

"...the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.” -Matthew 21:31

"Cast him into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” -Matthew 22:13

"...but few are chosen.” -Matthew 22:14

"...Ye do err, not knowing not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” -Matthew 22:29

"For ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.” -Matthew 23:13

"Ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.” -Matthew 23:15

"Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers how can ye escape the damnation of hell?” -Matthew 23:33

"...there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” -Matthew 24:51

"...I know you not.” -Matthew 25:12

"And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” -Matthew 25:30

"Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.” -Matthew 25:41

"...into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” -Matthew 25:46

SIT AT EASE IN ZION?

Dear reader, after the weight, gravity and truth of these statements we should be on our knees, frothing with utter horror at the reality of it. Either we are of those that believe with all our heart and flee from the wrath to come or we find ourselves stripping him, mocking him, spit upon him, crucified him, and reviling him. Consider this statement from Leonard Ravenhill: "Could a mariner sit idle if he heard the drowning cry? could a doctor sit in a comfort and just let his patients die? could a fireman site idle, let men burn and give no hand? Can you sit at ease in Zion with the world around you DAMNED?”

Hell is filling by the minute as we idly stand by. If our praying and preaching is not marked by tears in these last days something is wrong with our hearts. This generation of believers is responsible for this generation of unbelievers. We need hell-fire preachers! burning, impassioned men that will cry out and spare not. In light of eternity is it not a shame the way we are living? will we get to the judgement seat of Christ and hear God say "my son, you were too spiritual minded, you cared too much about eternity?” No! we will look back and see all the riches of Jesus Christ and realize we have come to the judgement seat a pauper. "One life to live will soon be past, only what is done for Christ will last, and when I am dying how glad I will be, when the lamp of my life has been burnt out for Thee.”

So what do we do in response? Let us hear the words of Ravenhill on the matter: "Brethren, we have only one mission- to save souls; and yet they perish! Oh! Think of them! millions, hundreds of millions, maybe one thousand million eternal souls, need Christ. Without eternal life they perish! Oh! the shame of it! the horror of it! the tragedy of it! Christ was not willing that any should perish!” Let the world say what it will, let the church say what it will. We need hell-fire preachers. Oh Lord send them.

MY FRIEND

My Friend, I stand in Judgment now, and feel that you're to blame somehow. On earth, I walked with you day by day, and never did you point the way. You knew the Lord in truth and glory, but never did you tell the story. My knowledge then was very dim, you could have led me safe to Him.

Though we lived together on the earth, you never told me of the second birth. And now I stand this day condemned, because you failed to mention Him. You taught me many things, that's true, I called you "friend" and trusted you. But I learn now that it's too late, you could have kept me from this fate.

We walked by day and talked by night, and yet you showed me not the Light. You let me live, and love, and die, you knew I'd never live on high. Yes, I called you a "friend" in life, and trusted you through joy and strife. And yet on coming to the end, I cannot, now, call you "My Friend."

Here are some responses to this article so far:

This will upset some people, but it speaks positive conviction to me. Thank you.

Amen.

Our Lord Jesus saw fit to warn men with true and accurate graphic detail of the horrors of the Righteous eternal judgment of God.

May He help us to preach the same message (same words) without fear or favor.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Perhaps the most terrifying truth about the lake of fire (Rev. 20:15) is that it is forever! There will be no hope for those who go there, no secound chance or no way out. It will seem like an unending nightmare for them. After suffering 10,000 years, the lost will still have just as long to suffer in this horrible place! Ponder that truth. It will help us understand how incredibly important salvation is and hopefuly get us active to minister the "life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ."

All the articles that I have read which you have written I find to be great. But anyone who actually lives them out will be in big trouble with the politically correct, tolerant, weak kneed, limp wristed "Christian" sort. :)

Keep it up.

Amen! Keep it up. I think of the soppy gospel some are preaching and are telling others needs to be preached and then I look at the angel in Revelation 14:6-7 who proclaims the "everlasting Gospel": "Saying with a loud voice, Fear God and give glory to Him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters."

I once heard a preacher preach on the 2 witnesses of Rev. 11.

He said that you have no business preaching fire and plagues if you are not clothed in sackcloth.

Amen. Great article Greg! I believe we need to exalt God in our preaching to such heights that once we get to the hell fire part folk are already in awe and wonder at the awesomeness of the God they have trifled with. I have found that there is nothing more powerful than exalting God. When we live in and preach from Job 38, Isaiah 6, and the Revelation folk get a REVELATION of God and His awesome majesty and they cannot help by bow the knee.

Our trouble is we have been preaching a Superman Jesus when we should have been thundering the Supreme God of all the Known Worlds. The One that there is NONE beside Him. Who is LIKE unto our God? Job's counselors tried to give their finite explainations of God and in so doing drug him down into the beggarly dust of human existence; but Elihu EXALTED Him and at once He spoke from the whirlwind and rebuked man for His greatest error and that is FAILURE to rightly exalt His creator and explain Him as He is. Who is this that DARKENS counsel with words without knowledge? Who is this that casts a shadow upon my glory by feeble words of human design and imagination? Oh that we would get an Isaiah 6 revelation from God that causes the great prophets to tremble and REPENT before God. WOE is me! For I am undone! And with THAT God in our eye may we take this great Gospel to a lost and dying world not just as a dying man unto dying men by as one who hath SEEN the KING THE LORD OF HOSTS.

Timely, accurate word.

Most Christians might have a lost sense of security about their salvation. They have probably never heard a reference to hell, and if they have, there was probably no emphasis as to it's horrors.

And it is horrible, terrifying and tragic.

Hence the lack of preaching about it. But it does need to be preached about.

We are so indifferent to the future punishment of the lost that it's sinful! Why don't we tell them? I know most don't listen, but some will.
Why don't we yearn for them? We need to.

Most have no hesitation in quoting John 3v16, yet even in that verse the word 'perish' is mentioned. It means whoever does not believe will perish. Who notices that?
I've heard pastors quote that verse and stop after 'Son'. Why?

God help us to have a fear of God, and of His judgments and of His wrath to come. It is coming. Judgment begins at the house of God.

God bless.

Greg, I have learned many hymns on the judgment of God. I would like to record them soon and send them to you. I just don't know how to send them. Here are the titles of them- Sin can never enter there, Count the cost, Prepare to meet thy God, Why Carelessly wait?, Ye must be born again, This call may be His last, Lost forever, Oh why not tonight?. I would also like to send other hymns on acceptance and repentance.
Shalom in Jesus' name-Amen

Gregg,

I have for a long time been convinced of our need for an old fashioned baptism of 'Hell Fire' preaching. It has always been the natural and obvious solution to the watered down demonically influenced gospel which is preached inside our churchs today. I have however, suffered much condemnation and ridicule from my peers when I have approached this subject. I have often preached messages which although have not been compromised, have not truly been what I believe needs to be preached to a lost and dying generation. Ninety five percent of those converted to Christianity at evangelistic crusades backslide, why ? It is because we are not presenting the gospel properly! It must be our duty as Christians to show this generation that there will be a day of judgment , when God's wrath will be displayed against all unrighteousness. Jesus said ' I am the way , the truth and the life' , without Him we are hell bound. Jesus came to give us life, His life and without that life we are lost.
We seem to be so scared to offend in these last days , political correctness has gone mad. We are trying to present the gospel in an easily acceptable manner. There should be nothing about the gospel that is easy to accept to those bound in sin and death. It is not our job to sell the gospel, we are to preach it and the Holy Ghost will convict the hearts of men . We are trying to promote the gospel in our own humanity , in our worldly and finite perspective. We must have a vision of eternity. We cannot expect to be able to pervert the gospel ! Look what happened when Uzziah put his hand on the ark! Ravenhill cried from the pulpitt forty years ago:

'Who's touching the ark '?

This lack of willingness to offend is taking people to etertnal damnation. Ravenhill said also :

'if we are the light of the world and yet the world is in darkness, who is God to hold responsible'?

Jesus gave us a great commision, to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, He also told us that we only know him if we keep His commands! Make disciples. Disciples are disciplined, God conciousness revolutionaries who live their lives in protest to the law of sin and death. Are we prepared to die for Jesus Christ and his gospel? If we are not, we cannot be His discilpes! It say's we must 'pick up our Cross and follow Him', there is one place a man carrying a Cross is going!Calvary and to death, death to this world and it's Satanic system of corruption. The question is simply how do you want to die? Do you want to die with Jesus at Calvary , or with Lucifer and his angels for all eternity in the lake of fire? One death leads to eternal life , the other to eternal damnation, we must convey this message, lest we answer on the day of judgment. Our heart must be breaking for those going to this punishment, if not then the love of the Father is not in us!!! Booth used to say that when training his soldiers for his 'Salvation Army', that the last twenty four hours of training he would have suspended them over the pit of hell, to give them a true perspective on what they were going forth to achieve.

Jonathan Edwards prayed:

'God stamp eternity on my eye balls'!

O Father give us a more eternity based perspective of reality, give us a revelation of hell, give us a heart to cry out 'repent', for 'judgment begins at the house of God'. Amen
