LOOKING AHEAD TO HIS REWARD.
we read in the faith chapter 11 of Hebrews abour moses in verse 26. As esteeming the reproach of Christ, greater riches than the treasures in Egypt, for he looked towards the reward. The verse talked about a very important truth. Moses was looking a head for a reward. What was this reward?
We can read about this reward right through the word of God. Abraham, Issac and Jacod were the people who saw this reward through their eyes of faith. Let us now meditate on this reward.
All the above men of faith desired after the heavenly things Mt.5:11,12says Blessed are, when they revile and persecfute you and say all kinds of evil aginst you, falsely for my sake. Regoice reward in heaven for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you, therefore donot cast away your confidence which has great reward. and also verses Heb10:35&Phil3:14. But what thigs were gained to me those I have counted loss for me.
Though Paul had many things in this world to feel proud of, but when his inner eyes were opened, he considered all these things as dump. The only way to forget the pleasure of this world is to desire after the eternal reward.
The only reason for Moses to forget the treasures of Egypt was the foresight of the reward. Therefore the position, power and pleasures of Egypt could not get hold of Moses.Only Moses, who had the revelation of this reward could prepare leaders and people to journey towards this great land. The word of God talks about this Moses as the only prophet, to see God face to face Dut 34:12.
When God called Abraham, God said to him, I am your shield and your exceedingly great reward. How intersting that God calls himself as the great reward Abraham has to leave everything behing, looking and believing this great reward. He became the father of faith.
The quesion for today is how much importance we have given this reward. I wonder how may of us have true revelation of this reward. This worldiliness is creeping in to the chruch so rapidly these days because the due importance is not given to the reward awaiting for us. Only by looking un to the author and the finisher of our faith. We can believe the reward in due season. We need the holy Spirit presence more daily in our lives. We must keep our daqily personal relationship with our Lord. Psalmist says "I have set the Lord always before me because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved "ps16:8
keeping our eyes on the eternal reward, let us lead a life pleasing and faithful unto our God.
convey our loving greetings to your loving family.
