The Nativity Film Reviewed

My father and I caught the first performance to this much anticipated film today, and were surprised that the cinema had NO advertisement, no promotional flyers or posters, and nothing to even indicated on the electronic board that such a film was showing.

One might be forgiven for concluding that they were ashamed to show it!

Anyhow at 90 mins long, the acting, scenery and production was good. My only criticism, well two things actually, would be the young Muslim girl playing Mary. She was too wooden and this was a shame. The second thing, and every Biblical film that I’ve seen makes the same error of having the Wise Men and Shepherds arriving at the same time for His birth, when in fact 18 months had elapsed by the time the Wise Men arrived.

All in all I’d give it 7/10 but probably not suitable for the little ones.

On our way out we left some Gospel tracts for people to read, even though nobody else had paid to see it when we were there.

The ironic thing is that the 16 year muslim actress is currently pregnant with her 19 year old boyfriend's baby. :-(

Just wanted to throw out a comment reguarding the comment on the actress and her boyfriend.

Firstly I believe that we should be very careful in what we believe and take into our spirit because one way or another it will become part of us and we will have to do something with it.I dont know where this info came from but I remember a similar situation recently about another christian movie and the persons alleged sins were dragged about shamefully without any attempt to have a biblical understanding on how to help this person(See Galatians 6) and there are many other of God's words on how to speak the "truth in love" with that brother or sister and with prayer for them helping restore them as they repent.

My point is are we judging this person or person in these types of situations without having any facts.do we believe everything we hear and read from a media heavily influenced by the devil?We need to as Paul points out in 1 Corinthians 13 that love "believes all thing" to paraphrase would be that (Agape Love)gives the benefit of the doubt and with discernment from the Holy Ghost see what they can become In Jesus Christ.We should never look and judge that sinner who is also a person beloved by God.Without praying for them,seriously because now when our family deals with a person spoken of like this, the temptation will be to see them with thier sin in mind.In love we need to take great care on what we say especially in reguards to a sin or sins commited by someone.My wife has not read this quote yet and I will not perpetuate it any longer.otherwise it can become gossip.And then she would be tempted to sin herself in spreading it further and potentially sewing discord and every other evil thing.

In closing please hear me from personal experience in being horribly hurt and horribly hurting others by my thoughts and words toward them and sadly Grieving the Holy Ghost's heart for that person(s).Our words have incredible power for Good or evil.we have such opportunity to bless people with our words.Ben,please dont take this personally as this is more a comment about being very careful in not putting our faith in a demonic media rather than The Lord God Omnipotent and His word.and to always seek the high road.Again not about you my brother Ben.Im sure with my heart your post was sent with love.And i point the finger at myself and quote the worldly phrase(Brian)"If you dont have anything good to say dont say it., or more properly.

Yeah, it's kinda funny how the wise men are always depicted at being at the manger. The funny thing is that Luke's gospel says they actually showed up at whatever home Jesus was staying at while in Bethlehem.

Thanks for your response Jen i agree with you and Ben it was an ironic circumstance.Im sorry if my post didnt come out right,I was just trying to convey the Importance of our attitude of discernment in situations like these.And whether we need to be careful in putting our faith in what the media says about peoples lives,especially in a situation like this movie which can potentially glorify God.I'm sorry as my post didnt fit the thread properly.I hope no one was offended or misunderstood what I said especially Ben and Jen.Thanks for your Kindness

Isn't that why Herod ordered all males 2 and under to be killed?

Isn't that Matthew 2? I didn't think the wise men were recorded in Luke.
