How do I create my own avatar?

calling all techies...I tried to download a jpg file but got some cryptic comments about a mime file.

sussed it.1. load something fairly simple into Paint Shop Pro. 2. Resize it to maximum of 32 x 32 pixels.3. save it as a gif file.done.4. View Account, upload avatar.easy. I knew those techies weren't as bright as they made out!How do you like the result? The owl is a wise old bird, they say, but I kept remembering that it was an 'unclean' bird. So I changed the bird and put it against the background of a flame. Its an old logo of mine. It brings to mind the words of an old Graham Kendrick song "gentle as a dove, He comes with fire!"the original logo has a latin phrasefide intelligemusfrom Hebrews 11:3 "by faith we understand"

I love it Ron!Have a special affinity towards doves.A little story to share.Quite a few years ago, prior to being 'apprehended from above', I came home from work one day, walked up the stairs to my apartment and there sitting on my door step was a white dove.Very unusual, he wasn't injured and the configuration of the stairwell was such that he was boxed in, yet he wasn't startled by my presence. I couldn't shake the thought that there was some 'meaning' to this. I stepped around him, went inside and continued to check on him periodically through the window. Eventually he flew down to the lawn and from there back to the sky's. I knew enough 'religion' to recall the dove correlation to Jesus and the meaning behind it.Later that night we got the dreaded phone call that my then girlfriend's father had died.It was also the same day that Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) had taken his life.It all may have been just a coincidence.About a year later I was working on a house in a new development, caulking windows, when a white dove flew up and sat, not 2 feet from the window.My mind went back and I thought "Oh no, not again, who this time?"It was exactely a year to the day.
