"AMERICA in THE BALANCES"

Complacency. Apathy. -These are the greatest downfalls of the
'lukewarm' church. "We are increased with goods, and have need
of nothing," as the Scripture so rightly says.

So what does God do with a country like America today? -A
country that has historically been a "Land of Revivals" but is now
addicted to "consumerism" en masse. A country that for the first
time since the Great Depression now has a NEGATIVE savings
rate - because its people are so enamoured with owning "things" -
even if they can't afford them. A country whose people are indebted
to their eyeballs and beyond - so they can keep up the lifestyle of
ease to which they have grown accustomed.

What does God do with an America that has grown too fat to pray?

Is anybody "desperate" any more? Where are those who cry to
God from their gut - from the bottom of their heart? Where are the
agonies and tears? Has America forgotten what kind of prayer it
takes to obtain an Awakening? If we can't pray like that any more,
then surely all is lost?

But just how 'desperate' are things really, you ask? Things aren't
so terrible, surely?

Well, the fact is that this nation's sin right now is utterly
unmatched in her entire history. Has there ever been a generation
of Americans that has killed 40 million babies in just 30 years?
No, such a thing is UNPRECEDENTED. And has there ever been
an American generation that has not only CELEBRATED homo-
sexuality - but actually helped broadcast and spread it around
the earth? No, such a thing has never been seen before. Forty
years ago it would have been undreamt-of.

(-God reserves for these particular types of sin the term,
"Abominations" - and historically any nation practicing them has
been utterly destroyed).

Has there ever been an American generation that has addicted the
whole earth to soft porn and violence the way that Hollywood
has done in the last 40 years? No, again this is UNPRECEDENTED
in history. (The center of the worldwide pornography industry is
located just outside Los Angeles).

Has there ever been an American generation whose preachers
go on satellite television and teach other leaders in 'Revival'
countries how to "milk" the sheep for money, and grow rich at
the expense of the poor? No, I tell you, America has NEVER
done this before. Our TV preachers are now actually being used
by the devil to corrupt true moves of God all over the globe. (Go to
Nigeria, Ghana, Brazil and see what I mean. American "Prosperity"
is everywhere - and still spreading).

At this very moment America is hanging in the balances. God is
making up His mind what to do with her. And yet still complacency
rules. -Still no "desperate" prayer. Apathy covers us like a blanket.
Will you sleepwalk your way to destruction, America?

Years ago a famous preacher commented that if God did not
judge America, then He would have to apologise to Sodom and
Gomorrah. I am not sure that it was true then, but I certainly
believe it is true now. We are at the crisis point.

In the last 40 years, in every way we have become the most sick,
selfish, greedy, corrupt, sin-addicted generation that America has
ever produced. And now judgment hangs over the land like a sword.

Where are those who "sigh and cry" at the abominations in the
land? Where are those like righteous Lot whose soul was "tortured"
day after day by all that he saw and heard? Are there none who
will cry to God with strong weeping and tears?

Let me make some predictions at this point, so I can be clear
about what this country is facing:

(1) Firstly, I believe it is IMPOSSIBLE to avoid Judgment. This
nation may have Revival in the midst of judgments - but this is now
the best it can hope for. In fact, without judgments it is doubtful
that Revival is even possible. -People are simply too complacent.
They need a SHOCK even to begin to pray.

(2) Expect a great economic crash - and expect it SOON. Without
this, how will this nation get its eyes off its great god, Money?

(3) Expect further CALAMITY. This nation is "running red lights"
one after the other. -That is what 9-11 and Katrina were. Things
are going to get much much worse before this is over. Expect
something to hit the West Coast - and expect it to be BAD.

It is dificult for me to put into words the crisis we are in at this
moment, and the judgments that await this nation if there is no
repentance. God is looking for sackcloth and ashes. He is looking
for those who "sigh and cry". Will you be one of these, my friend?

The hour is late. The need is urgent. Who will respond?

I don't live in America, but I can see not only the moral landslide of the the nation, but of the church too. England, and the West, isn't too far behind.

Concerning finance, I read that Iran has rejected the American dollar in favour of the euro, because of the weakness of the dollar.

Whatever will happen, if it turns people God-ward, it will be worth it.

If the Twin Towers and Katrina didn't do it, what will?

The world seems to have won the church.

But, thank God, there is always a remnant, those who have not bowed the knee to baal.

Prayer, urgent prayer is needed. We can't wait for everyone to get excited about prayer, that could take forever. But, one by one, then two's, three's etc, the army of God, in prayer, will grow.

God wants and deserves glory.

He will get it, one way or another.

Even if the ground were suddenly ripped from beneath our feet, i wonder, would this be enough to shock and break the spell? In the book of Revelations, after a series of plagues, the citizens of the world still refused to give up their idols of gold and silver, still refused to repent of their deeds and give God glory.

The aftermath of hurricane Katrina saw a complete breakdown in the system. And i think some of us remember the stories and the images we saw on tv. People were in panick and that region was engulfed in mayhem. Could this be a microcosm of what a larger catastrophe would look like? Do you believe we are facing the equivalence of several storms smacking the shores of the US in rapid succession? I pray God no, but all indicators seem to suggest just that. :-(

I recall an email I received from Michael Boldea's ministry [url=www.handofhelp.org]Hand of Help[/url] last year and it simply said "Tell your congregation the warnings of judgment are over."

I sensed the same thing and believe it's at the door.

a most timely article. of late this is what our Lord has been impressing on me. He said not to ask for mercy because His hand will not be stayed. judgment is indeed at our door and so let those of us who will, REPENT, REPENT, REPENT OR DIE!!!

Brother Andrew, I know your burden, I’m afraid I don’t want to take all of you out of topic for what God has put in brother Andrew is a great matter in the sight of God and I with a humble heart want to say something here if at all it is useful for my beloved bretheren.

I’m not an American and my origin and where I live is very very far from America! But I know that the brethren there and we here on the other side both labor for the same Kingdom. One thing the Lord teach me and a few of us here is that repentance starts form personal life. I believe that a generation is dealt in one man’s loins and this is the doing of God from the time of Adam to Abraham and down to Jesus and- for it is through the loins of the first Adam that we perished as it is through the loins of the last Adam that we are saved. Look at Marthin Luther- for those of you who are familiar with his history- The reformation was in his loins-when God dealt with him to bring him to the point that “the Just shall live by faith” the abomination and belief of the generation that says “man shall live by works and rituals” was dealt in him. The struggle, sacrifice and reformation of one man become the reformation era of a generation! So the Lord has put it deep down in my spirit that if I give up everything for Christ-if I give myself to God totally to be dealt by God without any reservation forsaking all for HIM- God will deal the generation in my loins-The purging of the abomination of my life will be used for the purging of the abomination of the generation-So if God finds one American who totally gives himself to God, who totally gives himself to prayer and fasting-who totally, with humble heart cast himself under the mighty hand of God- God will deal America in his/her loins-will you be that person????????? I think the cry of God is now one man, one Elijah, one John the Baptist, God needs one man… Will you be that man?

One piece of advise I want to give is that we used to debate in topics of judgment on this forum previously, Please let us void ourselves form this type of argumentative spirit and let us humble ourselves before the mighty hand of God, let us be bent and broken- this we all know in our hearts that God is not pleased with us- I don’t flatter myself and don’t flatter yourselves for Christ’s sake- I write this with tears and God knows my heart-what matters now is the Name that is insulted because of us- God is very very far away because of our sins- Please be broken for Christ’s sake I beg you all of us we have to be ashamed before God- Shame and remorse engulf me these days- Let us cry out with a loud voice like fools and in one heart “O LORD IN WRATH REMEMBER MERCY!!!!”

great cry of our heart in this hour for USA has to be - “O LORD IN WRATH REMEMBER MERCY!!!!”

God is looking for "sackcloth and ashes" type praying in America.

It is not so much that this nation's sin is such a stench (-though that is true of abortion and homosexuality - which God describes as "abominations") - it is the fact that America INFLUENCES THE WHOLE EARTH. Movies, TV, music that pour out of America to the world are spreading perversion and violence and pornography of every kind. To God, that is not something He can allow to go on and on....

He has wiped out whole peoples for less.
