Hello GloryCloud,
I would suggest doing a search for forums on the rapture. I know this has been discussed many times, and you will find quite a few different opinions on this subject.
Here's the latest one: [url=https://www.sermonindex.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=13622&forum=36#105598]The "Secret Rapture" Deception
I believe that our Lord could come back at any moment for His Bride, the Church. And until then, whatever trials or testings I may go through I'm still looking up!
"Watch therefore: for [b]ye know not
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore [b]be ye also ready:[b]ye think not
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 [b]The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 24:42-51
I think the most important point is that we are purifying ourselves, ready, and waiting for His return.
"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure." 1 John 3:2-3

The Lord will return for his children. This is guaranteed in 1 Thess. 4.
Do I believe it will be a secret as described by Tim Lahaye? Not at all.
Here is my question, why do some think the rapture is secret when 1 Thess. 4 speaks of a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and the sound of the trumpet of God?
Doesn't sound very silent and secret to me.
