Christmas Poem

sermonindex Dec 22, 2006

Each year we celebrate Christ’s birth
Enjoy our family, friends, and mirth.

Throughout the year attend a Church
But have we done a real-heart search?

Have we to God been reconciled
Through Christ, the Word, the Undefiled?

Let’s not go through the ‘Christmas motion’
With a heart void of devotion.

Instead, surrender to His will
Let Him our hearts reside and fill.

Then throughout the Christmas season
Our lives will radiate with reason;

We’ll rejoice, and love and laugh
Without the dread of Sovereign’s wrath!

He’s coming soon. We can’t delay!
We must confess our sin and pray.

He’s willing to redeem mankind
Transform and purify the mind.

He’s not a babe still in a manger
But, a Sovereign King and Savior!
