Great Sermons

sermonindex Dec 25, 2006

Hi Everyone,

Great site for sermons by some of the greats of the past and present. I was surprised to find this site and such a vibrant forum. I must give the Mod's a hats off right from the get go, wow trying to keep the saints on course! thats no small feat!

I have been a member of a couple audio forums (hobby) for a while, and a quick cruise through the past threads here has revealed the exact same attitudes and posturing. I mean if you exchanged the "audio terms" for "Kingdom / Bible terms" it would say exactly the same thing in the same manner, though, truthfully the audio guys are nicer and speak with more respect of the opinions of others with out the strife.

I had the chance to meet many of the audio forum mega posters at a gathering in Toronto last month and was shocked to find most of them in person could only be classified as "social cowards" go figure. I guess the Web provides the "Bravery of being out of range" in matters of audio and God:-(

Hi Marc,

Welcome to SI.

wow trying to keep the saints on course! thats no small feat!

It has greatly enhanced the prayer life ;-)

Am a shade confused by what you mean here but there is quite a mixture, it can take some time and effort to peruse through the history of the discussions ... In one sense there is some fluidity as thought's and expressions are shared. The times a particular thread will take on it's own life and be a tremendous encouragement or challenge are incalcuable. One thing leaned is never judge a post by it's title! We have been tremendously blessed to have some very long tenured saints (in the Lord) in out midst and that from the far reaches of the globe. Would say it is practically impossible to pin this down to one area or one thing though there is really a sincere effort to just know the Lord;

Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Here is something of an outline at least in intent;

As well as a great help from one of our members;

Brother the sad fact is that most of the forum communication on the internet in Christian circles parallels the worlds discussions. We need to be "saints" we need to be "holy" we need to be "set apart" and yes that is in our speech also. You are a welcome addition to the website brother and I pray that the Lord teaches and guides you into all truth.

Some great speakers to start listening to is: Leonard Ravenhill, A.W. Tozer and Zac Poonen you can find them here:

Let me know if you have any other questions.
