Thank you for your honesty and openess to share this with the community on SermonIndex.net I have just been thinking upon the Judgement Seat of Christ and writing a article on this subject. What I find quite sobering is every word that we type here in these forums will be brought before the Judgement.
I posted in another forum the testimony of how I have seen many people that have interacted in these forums for the last 3 years mature in Christ. The reason I know this is because of the usuage of words and their communication has changed and become more godly (more Christ-like). May this be the aim of us all to represent Christ to a lost world and worldly Church.

I myself have been trying to cut back on what i say concerning politics. I notice these types of threads invariably lead to strife. We live in a fallen world and politics is just one tool we use in trying to piece it back together again - war to create peace, a wall or barrier to keep others out, etc. The problem with politics, i think, arises when there is little or no theological suport to help solve or mitigate a particular issue. And here is where Christians bump heads. Politics has shown its capacity to divide. As Christians, however, we should have the mind of Christ; only from this stand point can we truly judge all things. In a land as open and free as ours, we're all too willing to make our voices heard even at the expense of others.

And were both very passionate about what we believe, so we should avoid these discussions in the future.
The truth is I'm kinda in a dry spell in my christian life.
I've just changed jobs and it has caused me to neglect my bible study. I'm up @ 3:30 and I don't get home till sometimes 8:00. I can see a change in my walk and I don't know what to do. My prayer time seems more routine than a relationship. I feel like I'm struggling for every breath. Little things set me off. This field is also rough on the family life. I'm not home like I was and it hurts. If someone were to call me to preach right now, I would have to turn it down, because I'm so spiritually drained. I havent preached in a month.
I will say this though. A 28 year old black man with muscual distrophy just taught me something about life. I don't want to stand before God having had a good physical body and be ashamed for the lack of use for HIS glory.
Please keep me in your prayers.

Kire, thanks for digging up that older thread, it is very much these things I think are far more efficacious in our dealings and showing what is true about us ... The Lord is watching, the world as well.

2Ti 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
To make that a hard and fast rule would be too much, but the word 'entangled' seems to be much the problem.

Perspective can be difficult when providing for family, etc.
Never think of your job as NOT being a preparartion of some sort for a happening to come in your life; ministry that is and is yet to come. I found out the hard way that God has His ways of exacting from us what He requires of us that He perform by us in union with Himself. Only our Life in Him will calm the angry sea.

I found out the hard way that God has His ways of exacting from us what He requires of us that He perform by us in union with Himself. Only our Life in Him will calm the angry sea.

Thank you and yes we may indeed devise our ways but God, if we have sufficient [S]piritual sensibilities to expect in Him, will direct [order up] the way we should respond in all situations. It is when we "forget" God that we stumble. We must strongly keep in mind that we are to become unto the full stature in Him, purposed in Christ Jesus and for His sake. This is the only reason for our existence by the new birth.
"Let this mind be in you as it was in Christ Jesus." "I live by His Life, not mine", said Paul. Gal. 2.20. For my part, with the same revelation, I press on as he did....[i]trying to bring a few with me.

Reminds of what my preacher-grandfather used to say: "as we get older the devil tries harder then ever before to get you to fall, to sin because he knows his opportunites to do so with you are getting shorter." He went on to say how he used to think older people would have less temptations, but life says this is not the case: it only gets worse.
Do not want to discourage you, just concentrate on living victoriously for today. As God was yesterday, so he will be today and be there tomorrow as well and what that will be like, no one else knows EXCEPT that He will be there.
And now I am in the place where my grandfather talked about....in part fueled by waywardness of loved ones who are fighting God. THIS is very discouraging. This situation makes it ripe for dryness to settle in as well because we get impatient with God and angry with the devil. And I pray I will not put my hand out to steady the cart like Uzzah did and get zapped....meaning, I do not want to interfere with God's working in the lives of these individuals.

Why not try seeing that we must get angry with our-self since this is where all overcoming must take place? To what degree is our love affair with the Father evident that when the enemy of our soul urges us to exercise our claim to temperal satisfaction we can say "It is written"..I will not live by bread alone? The devil has a potential ally in us that must remain dead to him.
"He who overcomes will I give a new name....", Jesus. [Rev 2.17]
