"Transformation" video

Has anyone seen the "Transformation" video(s)?

I was at a meeting at a friend's housegroup and they showed the first video. We had a time of prayer before seeing it and someone had a vision of a pitcher plant. This is a plant that traps insects and devours them in its "pitcher" (a modified leaf). The insect is attracted by the smell it produces and goes into the pitcher. There are downward pointing hairs and a "slippery slope". When the insect gets past that stage it cannot climb out again, falls into the liquid at the bottom of the pitcher, and is drowned and digested by the plant.

No-one seemed to understand the vision, but to me it was a clear warning about the video we were about to see. Indeed it was a very attractive video and sounded and looked so good. But....

Maybe I should have said something at the time, but there was a sense that no-one would have believed it - they all thought the video was wonderful and the leader determined that we should start praying earnestly for such transformation to take place in our own community.

There was - I think - one such prayer meeting, then the zeal petered out - to my relief!!

Later, at another friend's house the second of the videos was shown. One part of it mentions Uganda. I was in Uganda from 2002-3 and saw no evidence of genuine revival, or major changes in the society, though there was much Christian activity.

There was a true Ugandan revival in 1935, but since????

So why do you think the Lord was warning about them? The pitcher plant illustration was of something that looked and "smelled" wonderful, but was in fact deadly!

Shortly after that if discovered that it was false, and I quickly told the pastor. He discounted my words.

I believe that the video has indeed been a fly trap and has contributed to a downward slide in the revival momentum. Of course, it is not just the video, but other things such as the gold dust etc.

You are not alone. Many have been doubtful about "Transformation". For example the pastor who was killed (in the first vidwo) was put forward as a martyr, but others say it was over a land dispute and nothing to do with his preaching the Gospel.

Actually the vision wasn't mine, but the one who had it seemed not to understand it either.

Maybe the Lord gave the other person the vision to speak specifically to me, because my subject is Biology! (No, I don't believe in Evolution!)

I don't remember the part about Uganda, but all that I can say is that there were many revivals across America and right now there's not much evidence of any of them

Maybe I should watch them now and see what I think of them.

God doesn't send revival, He sends Himself. Ergo, much we called revival didn't have God in it--- and still doesn't. Get my drift?

Right, but what about Asbury College and other ones like it? I'm not saying just because it's called a revival that it is one, but there have been true revivals in our land to which there's not much evidence any more. There are some godly people left from them, but our country does not feel the impact of them anymore. All I was trying to say was that just because there was no evidence in Uganda doesn't mean there was not a revival there.

Indeed, you are correct. My point is, if indeed it can be seen to be His presence in the revival, are we not a callussed people to ignore it or squander it? Should we not seek to profit by it? People actually expect from revival a "magic wand" kind of thing to happen to them. When after a day or so, it does happen and the old routine comes back, people forget the whole deal and need something new/fresh. The one just past didn't work. It's not God's fault a true revival peters out.
