Quote Feature - how do you do it?

Um, for some reason I can't get the hang of the quote feature. I've tried highlighting the sentence that someone else has written at the top and hitting the quote button...but nothing happened. Another time I tried pasting it into the little box and hitting the quote button and nothing happened. The most that happened was the entire post I was replying to ended up in the text box which was not what I wanted.

What I am doing incorrectly? :-?

are you using Internet Explorer?

when you hit the quote button look up to the top of the browser window; you might notice a bar along the top saying that scripted windows are blocked. you can click it and disable the blocker (temperarily)
