What language does God speak?

Sorry Mikey. Maybe this is inapproriate since you already locked the tongues thread, but I simply must post my answer to the question asked me there.

I wanted to ascertain where spitfire got this “gift” from, because I can’t find it in Scripture.

I have never understood the whole debate that surrounds "tongues". Why do so many people think they need to "prove" that it isn't real? What language does God speak? But...for the sake of the gentleman who wants my scriptural proof of why I pray in tonges, here it is:

"In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
and
Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Tongues is baby talk. Maybe you're just too grown up to understand. ;-)

Unless your "gift" of tongues is a known language, it isn't biblical, not to mention for men only.

Duplicated by error.

I think when a thread is locked we should respect the admin's decision, and not carry on the argument under a new thread. It shows a lack of respect for them, and a desire to argue for arguments sake... and to get in the last word.

How childish.

A good discussion about tongues is fine, but this particular discussion was shut down, and for good reason. Both of you need to let it go.

You are right, Krispy. I'm sorry Mike. That was my bad. Sincerely, Dian.
