Salvations in India

My husband called me from India, and said on an outreach they had, over 100 people got saved.

Whilst this amount might seem exaggerated, in India, their idea of church and evangelism is quite different from the western idea.

It was also reported on the news last year about the numbers of people becoming Christians.

For the sake of modesty, let's say only 25 of those 100 are genuine conversions, when was the last time you heard or saw where you are of 25 people gettings saved?

Or 25 people getting saved in the last 5 years?

I know it hasn't happened here.

My husband returns from India on the 14th February.

I believe it will be an experience he will never forget.

The degeneration of the church here in the US has become so over-whelming, and depressing, to both hear and read about, its good to be reminded that the Holy Spirit is still at work today!

which part I have just come back from Hydrabad, India is a big place. They are so open to the gospel out there. It is the western influences that I detest the most and the Hindu Temples.

He is in Chennai, formerly called Madras.

He says every night they evangelise, a good number of people get saved.

In India, when you get saved you get saved. Their standard of Christianity is different from the west.

They say if you pray less than 2 hours per day, you are not a real Christian.

They fast every Saturday evening until after the Sunday morning service.

My husband said the vast majority of the church consist of women.

They are praying for their husbands to get saved.

I believe they will.

My husband returned from India recently.

Physically, he has not been too well, but we believe it is the tablets he has been taking for malaria that are making him unwell. You can't win.

Still, his spirits are high, and he is excited about what he saw take place over there.

As we watched the video he took, it's easy to see why he was excited.

They really do fear God. They honour their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

In India, you have to say Jesus rather than God, because they have more than 300 million gods over there, so you have to be specific.

They take off their shoes before going into church, because they believe it is holy ground, another way in which they honour God.

When my husband mentioned that people in the UK, just live together and have children without being married, they found it almost impossible to believe. They really could not grasp the idea. Even the unsaved in India do not do that.

And the UK is supposed to be Christian. I said, supposed.

I would love to go to India myself, but for now it is only a dream.

The pastors plan to go again next year, God willing.
