Favorite Discernment Ministry?

I was wondering what are some of your favorite "Discerment" Ministries?

I find James Jacob Prasch to be quite good. The are some of his sermons on SI. His website is [url=www.moriel.org]www.moriel.org[/url].

Generally, it is wise to be cautious of "discernment ministers", as when one over emphasises on what is wrong with the world, it can be hard for them to see what is right.

Ah, the pride of life... the sin that turns saints into devils.
He is Truth, the Way, the Life.
To preach a sermon that glorifies God and not a teaching... how the Christ rebuked the Pharisees throughout the Gospels. Indeed, those religious spirits live on.

Early on in my Christian walk I began to get involved in some of these types of ministries and then I read somewhere that when bank people are taught to look for counterfeit money they never look at counterfeits but saturate themselves in the real. As they become completely familiar with the real the easily recognise the fake.

This really helped me. Before I read anything I seek God to keep me from error and there have been many times when something just doesn't set right with me. I go by that inner prompting of the Holy Spirit. I think it is better than looking at who is in error. We become like what we look at. I will tell a for instance. Most of the ministries that I studied who pointed out everybody elses error became negative and hateful. This too is sin. What isn't of love isn't of God.

So I would say dear brother saturate your self in the word and those who don't compromise for teaching and the fakes will leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Wise words you have spoken Goldminer. May I suggest, Yeshuaboy that you strive to learn what "the point" is. There is an overriding principle that ties together everything in the Bible. It is not something that is easily articulated, and really must be comprehended by revelation, but there is something about it that enables you to be able to hear His voice, with greater clarity.

With this search, be careful of both "oversimplifying" and "overcomplicating" things in your mind. For example, earlier I mentioned three things that John described as "all that is in the world". You managed to latch onto one of them, but they really are inseparable. On the other hand, you seek to listen much to "discernment preaching", with will lead to you being on the lookout for everything that can go wrong, and miss out on seeing what God is doing in the midst of things.

If you can learn of Him, and carry His burden, which is light, errors will stand out, but you will not feel the need to worry about them, unless someone else can benefit from your observations.

I think we have to be careful as mentioned earlier. Yet, we can use them and they can be a blessing. Also we all should know; learning how to keep the Bible text in context will be the greatest weapon and discernment ministry

This is one of my favourite Prasch articles. I always point out that God doesn't suggest that he judge, but that he commends it, when speaking to people who blindly accept what preachers say, because of "denominational endorsements" and the like. This article has opened many eyes to this fact, due to his dealing with the different Greek words used for "judge".

His teaching on Midrasch (which is basically Hebrew hermeneutics) is greatly beneficial for establishing a discerning heart. This cuts to the heart of the "oversimplification vs overcomplication" issue. I believe that there are some sermons here on this topic.
