I'm currently in the Book of Revelations, in my morning worship and Bible study.
though this post, should be in the Scriptures section, I purposely didnt post it there, beacuse I am not fit to do exegesis on this book.
But what I want to write about is several things that came into my heart about the current world system we find ourselves in:
1. The world, as a whole, has never been richer in a material sense. The merchants of the world have never been richer in a material sense.
2. The militaries, the arnies of the world and the nations have never yielded such earthly power as they do now.
and I believe these two threads connect themselves.
One group, the merchants worship money, the other, the armies, worship power.
In the 20th Century, two things have happened that are twin poles that play directly into the coming end days. They are not the whole picture, but they connect, I believe, and mind you, this is just my opinion, it is not theology, it is not a "word", what I write now, is just the same as a man gazing into the sky and seeing a line of thunder clouds on the horizon and saying, "a storm is coming", thats all
1. we invented and mass produced the internal combustion engine at the same time we began to find a lake of petroleum beneath the surface of the earth. From these, has sprang great wealth, for not only just a few, but also for the whole world system. Food is transported on roads built of the petroleum, homes heated, lights turned on, etc etc etc.....the list is long, and my time limited.
2. we invented nuclear weaponry, we split the atom.
These two poles, I believe play directly into what Revelations is saying. Of course some of you may disagree with me, but connect the dots.
man kills man over religion, man kills man over money, wealth. man now has the ability to mass kill man over both of these worldy desires. Man has begun to disregard stewardship over the earth, and started a process of befouling both water and air by this substance that comes from BENEATH.
...and if you read the high symbology of Revelations, you see the prophesies of this Book coming to fore.
I know there are many scholars who attempt to dissect and rightly divide this Book of Revelations, and they come up with many theo-intellectual "monikers" "pre-trib", "millenialism", "post rapture", etc etc, and I myself dont know what they are talking about, and thats okay.
But I feel in my heart, that those two twin poles, addiction to petroleum and profileration of nuclear weaponry, coupled with their cousins, religious hatred and the befouling of the earth are the "start" buttons to the "end of days".
Some say these are the "last" days...true, but no one can measure this, "a time and a time in a half". This thing, this world system can sputter along for 200 more years, 200 more weeks, 200 more days, hours, or minutes. Who Knows?
He Who is, and was, and will be.
I have so much more to write, but I have to leave this keyboard.
The days grow darker, the plunge is near, and the Lamb has the keys of heaven and hell at His girdle. Forget the denominations, the "doctrines", ANYTHING that will divide the Body of Christ, just pray that you will be given a vision thru the Open Door, because what will seperate us, is that we will embrace faith, and cast aside fear.
the days grow dark and darker, and will be long,much longer than we ever thought.
