Norman Grubb has a wonderful article on, "Natural faith to Spiritual faith.
We then can understand: Galatians 2: 16-21. The faith of Jesus Christ in the believer.

Norman Grubb writes:
Now faith starts by seeing a thing, in which it thus can naturally and effortlessly believe. A man sees a book; it does not take him a split second, not the faintest conscious effort, to believe that it is a book and that he can pick it up and read it. Yet all those reactions are actually the first forms of faith. The book has stimulated his faithfully,, and the man performs an act of living faith if he takes the book up and reads it.
This explaination requires that the individual that sees the book has learned the precept of "what" a book is. Once an individual has come to understand "what" a book is, then he can exercise belief that "what he sees is a book."
Likewise one cannot manufacture belief which enables faith until God imparts Himself to the individual. Faith in Him requires that He first loves us. Only as we come to understand "what" it means to be loved by Him are we enabled to believe and act upon what He commands us to do which takes us from glory to glory.
All men seek to hope in something. The "something" is generated by Satan or Christ. There is nothing in between. The evidence created by out path is a direct result of striving to acquire the substance that we hope in.
Grubb seems to miss the "what" in this discertation.

Then comes saving faith. Then comes the faith that a Christ-one lives by.
Galatians 2:16-20 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. Is this not a given for all we do when it comes to living our life. The Word of God must be taught and learned to exercise faith, miniscule on our part, all we can do is believe through the Holy Spirit and our faith is overwhelmed on Gods part. Then the Faith of the Son of God directs and leads us in the life we live in Christ who is then our life.
It takes the Faith of God to make the miniscule faith God has give all men to become the Faith of Christ in us. God is in control of this Faith, and makes it His in us.
Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
