Please pray for Darren's transplant

In July 2005 my son Darren's kidneys collapsed. He was rushed to hospital and treatment included a blood transfusion.

After being tested it was discovered that both my husband Nick and my kidneys were perfect matches. The hospital decided to go with Nick leaving me as the back-up plan. All the testings and everything went very well and the transplant was due to go ahead last December (2006)

We were all ready to go, but 24 hours before the transplant on the final testing it was discovered that antibodies from that transfusion had suddenly multiplied and were fighting against Nick's tissue. (Of course the blood was filtered - but they can't get everything out). They called it off and though we were very dissapointed, but we thanked the Lord for this outcome.

You see if they had gone ahead it would have rendered Darren unble to ever receive a kidney, plus Nick would have lost a kidney for nothing. Darren then decided that he didn't want me to go through all that and is waiting for a kidney from another source now. He is on peritoneal dialysis and we are blessed to have a machine at home that he uses for 10 hours each night.

Please join us in prayer for either a complete healing of Darren's kidneys or a suitable kidney to be made available soon. Thank you sweet family.

Joy, Thank you for sharing your prayer concern on behalf of Darren. I pray that God will intervene for him (and also you and Nick), and grant him a healthy kidney.

In the meantime may he also give you and Nick strength and patience regarding his dialysis treatments and other aspects of his care.

(PS I was a dialysis nurse in a past life so I am aware of the tremendous strain it can be)

Just sent you a message, then decided to find out the whole story so I wouldn't have to ask you - God's got plan's for Darren, else the antibodies wouldn't have started up from Nick, Darren's own father.

It's sweet of Darren to want to protect you, but I can't help but be pleased that you are a possible emergency donor. But I don't think it's going to go that way. I'm looking for a sudden and quick miracle to heal Darren's kidney's, and praying that way too.

But I believe what you said - that the Lord has a plan for Daz. Both Nick and Darren's were tissue tested each month and the anti-bodies did not show up until just before the transplant! :-)

It's God being sneaky, as I call it. God's got something planned.

It may look bad for a while, even look dangerous, but with so many of us praying in agreement for Darren to be suddenly, miraculously healed, I cannot but think but that God will make it so.

Earlier today I was praying for you all - You haven't mentioned Nick's knee - is all well there? Well, praying on it anyway, and for your amazing energy and service to God.

We really appreciate your prayers. Darren has been in hospital a few times - once with peritonitis which was nasty. He was in for a week last week also with some bug they didn't know what it is. He is not eating much of late. I will keep you updated - and look forward to our praise report!

Nick goes back to work tommorow. I will miss him not being at home. He is quite well praise the Lord!

He is back in hospital for the 2nd time in 3 weeks. It looks like he is going to need another operation.
