[b]"Cast Not Away Your Confidence"

If God has given you faith to believe for a mighty revival, keep on believing until He answers prayer! God often chooses to answer prayer after many delays and under very unfavorable circumstances, and in the midst even of apparent defeat. We read the remarkable account of Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones which became a living, exceeding great army standing on their feet (Ezek. 37:1-14). God is the same today! (Mal. 3:6).
Jesus taught that men ought always to pray, and not to faint, and He illustrated and impressed this great truth and principle by telling of the widow and the unjust judge (Luke 18:1-6). The Lord concluded: "And shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily" (Luke 18:7-8).
Some have been praying for revival for a long time. They should in no wise be discouraged. Abraham waited in faith for years and years before Isaac, the son of promise, was born. Joseph waited for years in Egypt before his dreams came true (Genesis chapters 37, 39-50). "Cast not away therefore your confidence" (Heb. 10:35).
In Joel 2:28 we read: "Your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions." And while not all dreams are from the Lord by any means, yet He does speak to His people from time to time through dreams. Of course, everything must be proved by the Word of God, and nothing accepted unless it agrees with the Bible (Num. 12:6; Matt. 2:19-23; 1 Thes. 5:20-21; Isa. 8:20).
All Christians should be filled with the Holy Spirit (John 7:37-39; Eph. 5:18). If we are walking in the Spirit, the Lord can give us the witness of the Holy Spirit when a prophecy or a dream, etc., is true. Praise the Lord!
[b]Dream of a Sudden Explosion
Some years past I had a dream that has not yet come to pass, but I feel that the time is near at hand for its fulfillment. I had attended a Gospel service and someone sang a solo, the chorus of which ran: "Then O, what a weeping and a wailing, when the lost were told of their fate; they cried for the rocks and the mountains; they prayed, but their prayer was too late!" (Rev. 6:12-17).
As I walked home from this service, that chorus seemed to pulsate in my very soul. I retired, but awoke with a heavy burden of prayer. Then I went back to sleep and had this dream:
In my dream I saw some children who had built a fire in an old keg. They were keeping the fire burning right along – when suddenly there was a very loud explosion, so loud that it seemed to wake me up. Then as I was wondering what caused the explosion, God gave me a vision:
I saw, when the explosion occurred, that the keg was blown to pieces. This probably signified that when the great revival comes, sectarian barriers will be shattered. Also, when the explosion took place, I saw that a large black object was blown by the impact of the explosion right through a large brick building and out into the back alley. The Holy Spirit seemed to make me know that this black object represented the devil. For the time being when the great revival comes, the devil will be utterly defeated, blown out into the back alley, so to speak.
After the explosion, I noticed that the fire was still burning in the place where the children had built it, but there was no smoke now. I saw three clear, bright flames pointing toward the east. This I understood to mean that when this mighty revival breaks forth, there will be no more bickering, fighting, quarrelling – no smoke – among God’s true, out-and-out people, but that with clear, untarnished, flaming testimony and life, they will point toward the east. That is, they will witness with Holy Ghost power to the soon coming of the Lord Jesus!
"Who maketh…His ministers a flame of fire" (Heb. 1:7). "For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Matt. 24:27).
Also, after the keg was blown to pieces, I noticed a large iron pot partly in the fire, which was now turned over on its side with just a little sediment in it. This seems to indicate that the "doctrinal pot" will cease to boil when revival comes.
This Scripture came very vividly to mind: "And shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto Him, though He bear long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily" (Luke 18:7-8).
In further explanation of the dream and vision, the Lord showed me that there had been in the fire which the children kept burning and burning, a hollow iron cylinder half full of water. The cylinder was closed with no way for the steam to escape. As the children kept the fire burning, the water was turned into steam, and having no way of escape, the pressure became so great that the steam finally burst the iron cylinder and caused a terrific explosion and blew the keg to pieces.
The Lord made me to know that this iron cylinder with water in it, represented the prayers of His own people who cry day and night unto Him for revival! The iron cylinder showed no indication at all on the outside that steam was being formed and pressure was increasing inside the cylinder. Just so, while there may be very little indication outwardly that the prayers of God’s Holy Ghost burdened people are having any effect, the time will come when these prayers will be answered all at once, in a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit!
So let us keep on believing for God to answer the heart cries of His own burdened people of these last days. "Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of patience [cheerful endurance] that after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise" (Heb. 10:35-36).
Be…Ready (Matt. 24:44)
The explosion in the dream was sudden. Let us be READY for the movings of the Holy Spirit in our midst. Let us examine ourselves and judge ourselves, and have our hearts right with God and with man at any cost! (2 Cor. 13:5; 1 Cor. 11:23-32; 1 John 2:28).
"The Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to His temple…. But who may abide the day of His coming? And who shall stand when He appeareth? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap" (Mal. 3:1-2).
