This we have heard: "I am a born again Christian and I am happy that my sins are forgiven and I go to church on Sunday because I like the fellowship!" We ask: "Do you not go to put yourself in the way of spiritual blessing?" The answer: "No, I am saved and I do not need anything!" We ask: "Have you offered to witness, to pray, to encourage, to assist, to participate in your church's life and outreach?" The answer: "No. My church seems to get along very well without my help!" Brethren, this "non participation" kind of faith is a strange parody on Bible Christianity. Men and women who say they are believers just cancel themselves out. Is it something we have learned from the sporting events?-the great majority are spectators. They come and sit! If there is any true spiritual life within us, God will give us a gift of some kind and the humble soul will find something to do for God!

Many times we are not fully aware of the "behind the scenes" ministry that is going into the church.
There are intercessors actually travailing before the Lord on the behalf of the congregation, the pastoral staff and the Body of Christ as a whole. We just don't always know who they are.

Just to add a few thoughts, although it doesn't actually reference Tozer in the post, take note of which forum a post is in. Since this one is in the Tozer forum, we assume the post contains a quotation by that author unless specified otherwise (same applies to the Ravenhill forum, etc.). And all such quotes are intended to just to be food for spiritual thought. The Bible speaks to everyone. These quotes speak to some and not to others.

Thank you all for your grace and understanding. I think I fear Bible Scholars more than any other sect in the world.
This mistake tormented me all night and day to where I was afraid to even read the responses.
But instead of what I expected from everyone, I was granted tremendous grace and understanding.
And I am grateful, because this site: sermonindex.net has literally changed my life and my walk with the Lord over the last several months and I did not want anything to tarnish this gift. Thank you again and again...

[color=993300]Dear Brother, I doubt that many of us, except the moderators,(and they'll deny it) and a few others that post very scholarly arguments would consider themselves Bible Scholars. Most of us just love the Lord, and love to talk about Him. Yes, when we get into debates, we all get out our computer bible software, and start hunting quotes, and it looks scholarly. I have read through this thread several times and just feel that I'm missing something?? As if talking2u was in some major error and received some major rebuke. I don't see that either one is the case. What she/he stated was true regardless of who the original quote was from and it doesn't dispute what Tozer said. It seems to me it was more along the lines of adding to it.

This is a very true statement and one we need to consider. These hidden saints accomplish more for the kingdom than most of those in the limelight.

I just want to encourage this saint because they said they were so tormented over their mistake and I simply don't see that there was a mistake to begin with. Am I missing something in this thread?

i wouldent call it a mistake either, i was "careless" , i should have refered to Tozer in the thread even if it was in the Tozer "section" of the forum, i "presumed" to much, not everyone are aware of how things work here, and as for mistakes i think we all have made them, i hope i have done my last...

and dont let mistakes discurage you sister/brother. Even thou i dont think you made a mistake, you should speak your mind about any article. Even if it is Tozer me or any other saint, and a good thing is to read through the rules of the forum and some of the other threads whit "hints & tips" on how to make the most of Sermonindex,
