Revival IS happening in America...

sermonindex Apr 2, 2007

We dont hear about true revivals in the media, so we assume since we dont see it on TV, then it isnt happening. But I dont believe that. I believe there is a true awakening in this country, and we will continue to see it grow as the persecution and bigotry against Christians grow. That always happens.

I posted this once before, a few months ago, but I thought it deserved to be posted again for those who missed it. The following link will take you to the website of the Cane River Revival which happened right here in the mountains of NC this past fall in 2006. It started when a conservative Fundamental Baptist Church (not Charismatic) held a 2 week tent revival in Burnsville NC... and instead of finishing in 2 weeks, it went on for nearly two months. Some nights as many as 4,000 people crammed into the tent. (it actually did get some exposure in the national news)

Ralph Sexton, JR. is the pastor of the church that held the revival, and he is a straight shooter when it comes to preaching the Word of God (oh... and he's a KJV-man too!)

This goes to show you that we dont need to dazzle the people with smoke machines and ear splitting music and clowns and lions and tigers and bears... oh my! No, all they did was sing hymns and preach the Word purely... and God filled the tent to over flowing.

On the website are pictures and videos of the revival, and the most moving pictures to me is seeing all the people... several thousand... lined up on the banks of the Cane River waiting to be baptized.

Hellelujah!

Check it out... http://www.caneriverrevival.com/

Thank you so much, Krispy, for posting this!!! I live in NC and have not heard a thing about it. I have gone to several of Ralph Sexton, Jr.'s tent revivals in Caldwell County, NC. You are absolutely correct... he is a straight shooter and is very concerned with the spiritual welfare of America.

God is always at work!!!! There may be many more movings of God that we know absolutley nothing about... but boy it sure is good to hear about them.

Oh, Jesus, let me witness and be a part of one!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's my favorite sermon by Brother Ralph, given at a revival service in South Carolina. Give ya a taste of how us NC mountain boys preach! :-)

It's called "What A Difference A Day Makes". I hope everyone gives this a listen...

Out of curiousity, what was the fruit of it?

sermonindex Apr 3, 2007

Well... from what I understand, the churches in that neck of the woods (particularly the fundamental Baptist churches) have indeed swelled in numbers. As for the impact they are having on the community up there, I am not sure. It's a very rural area that is about 25 miles or so north of Asheville...

But I can assure you that if they were saved under Brother Ralph's tent, they understood salvation, and it was no "easy-believism" alter call. It was a call to repentence, forsaking of sin. I have met Brother Ralph, and did the foundation design on their sanctuary, which they call the "Tabernacle of the Mountains". This is someone I am very much familiar with.

Does that mean everyone who went forward is still walking with the Lord? No... not all will. But there was a such a moving of God during those two months, I have to believe most are. And if they are not, they have no excuse because they heard Ralph preach that hell is hot, and heaven is not, repent of your sin and get right with God. Doesnt get anymore simple than that.

Hi, I'm Abby. I'm new here, but I am an RSM Tent Crusade Intern. I was at the tent meeting almost every night for the six weeks, in Burnsville, NC. Burnsville is continuing to be impacted from the Tent last fall. The spirit of the people has changed. Several hundred people got saved during the meetings, as many as 70 in one night. We ended the tent with a river baptism in the Cane River Creek, right behind the tent site. Several hundred were baptized. The Mountain Heritage High School has become a totally different school, from what I have heard. They have started having prayer before school and meetings on some days after. During the tent, conviction was strong, and several students would just break down crying in the middle of classes, they later got saved.

I was able to take pictures at the tent, and those pictures are on the caneriverrevival.com website, along with the down to the river video. I would encourage everyone to at least check the website out.

The next Tent crusade starts next month in Greensboro, NC. You can see the details at the: ralphsextonministries.com website. Please be in prayer.

just on that account, here in Yankee land for you men and women from the south, i saw something that i have never thought people would be doing two days ago. this brother from Uganda by the name of John Mullinde from Trumpet Ministries came in(the whole thing was arranged in 3 weeks) and there were about 15 counties represented at the meeting. I had longed to see people weep for the lost here in this country and for corporate repentance. once i get the dvd, i will get it hopefully to Greg so that others will be blessed by it. if anybody was at Grace Fellowship church, in MD this past Wednesday please attest to it. i know for sure now that it's not just me that wants a revival around my way
