Jack Hyles

I have had a mate email me some sermons by Jack Hyles, but I have never heard of him. Does anyone on here know anything about the man? Is he worth listening to?

Jack passed away a few years ago. He pastored a large church in a town just south of Chicago. I think he was a verteran of World War 2 and he was definately very patriotic. He was a Baptist and in most ways very strict in what he believed.

The church Jack was pastor at used to send people to the truck stops around Chicago and bring them to church. I never went along because one time I went to a meeting somewhere else and had to hitch hike in cold weather to get home or else subject myself to teaching that I didn't believe was right. One person I know from Canada went to Jacks church and was hassled by one of the attenders at the church about his little pony tail. This was totally out of order, especially since he was a first time guest. You either had to have a clone, 20th century hair cut to this person or you didn't have your hair shorn.

Jack was a good man. I've heard stories of him preaching from the bars of different bars. He always incouraged his people to witness to the world.
