EVENT: Maranatha Baptist Church - A Day of Prayer

I am going to be attending this day of prayer and I encourage anyone else in the area to come out and spend a day in intercession for revival in the land of America and beyond!

For those with a burden to pray…

On May 11th at 7pm we will tentatively be meeting at one of our church family’s homes to pray and seek the face of God. There is the possibility of watching a video message on prayer. If a large amount of people come we will relocate to the camp which is nearby.

On May 12th at Baptist Hill Assembly Camp we will have a day of prayer.

Here is a tentative schedule:

7:00am - 8:30am – Early Prayer

9:00am – 12:00pm – Prayer

12:00pm – 1:30pm – Break

1:30pm – 3:00pm – Prayer

3:00pm – 4:00pm - Break

4:00pm – 5:30pm – Prayer

5:30pm – 7:30pm – Break

7:30pm – 9:00pm – Prayer

There will be times of corporate prayer and small group prayer. The focus will be on revival, our churches, our nation, lost souls, missions, and any other burdens that God lays on our hearts to intercede for. There may also be some singing and sharing time.

For those who want to spend the night Friday or Saturday night there is lodging available at Baptist Hill. The cost is $8 a night per person.

Directions to Baptist Hill Assembly Camp:

From the east (Springfield) on I-44, take exit 46 (Mount Vernon), turn north (right) on Hwy 39. Stay on Hwy 39 through Mount Vernon to Junction Hwy 39 north, (Not Business 39). Turn north (right), Go approx. ¼ mile, turn west (left) on Hwy V. Go approx. 4 miles to main entrance to camp on the left.

From the west (Joplin) on I-44, take exit 38 and turn north on 97. Go approx. 3 miles, turn east (right) on F.R. 2110. Stay on 2110 for 3.5 miles to the camp on the right.

I would love to visit with you and fellowship. Eli Brayley and myself will be driving back across the states on the way back up to Victoria , Canada. Perhaps we can connect at that time to do some ministry and have fellowship also.

I am looking forward to this day of prayer. We are starting out the evening of the 11th at 7pm at the camp with a very powerful video message on prayer by Doug Small. We will follow it with a time of intercessory prayer.

If anyone is planning on coming and staying at the camp Friday or Saturday night please let me know.

I was blessed and encouraged the other day as I read an article by Oliver Price (Bible Prayer Fellowship). Here are a few snippets from the article:

If I go, I will stay Friday night. I'm not 100% sure if I'm going or not.

That would be great if you could come. I was just wanting a general idea of how many might stay at the camp so I can tell the camp director how many cabins to have ready.

Sadly I had some troubles at the border so I will not be attending this conference. But I do encourage all the saints on SI that are near there to go.

Ah, that's too bad. Your going to have it worked out by the revival conference right?

Bless God! we had a precious time of prayer Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon. It was a time of seeking the face of God for our individual lives, for our families, for our churches, and for God to move in mightily in manifesting His presence.

We started out Friday evening with a precious time of prayer with around seventeen people. Much time was spent invoking the presence of God for the following day. On Saturday we had most of our church family there plus a few from Texas, Arkansas (praise God that Josh Parsley was able to join us!), and St. Joseph, MO. We started the morning session with reading the first six chapters of Acts together, and then we went to our knees and had a time of confession and praise mingled with intercession for different areas. After lunch we joined back together and watched a video by Doug Small entitled ‘Entertaining God’, the main emphasis was on entering into intimacy with God in prayer. Then we broke up into families and each family sought God together. After that everyone was on their own to pray alone or in small groups. We ended off the evening with praise and worship to our great God.

Oh God is good. This afternoon after church we ladies gathered together and had a most precious time in prayer crying out to God for different needs. There was one thing in particular I was burdened about and God really did do a work, praise God! I can testify that we do serve a prayer-answering God! Alleluia! It’s hard to describe the rejoicing in my heart this afternoon as I realized how He had worked in answer to prayer.

There was such sweetness amongst us as believers, and I know that was because we were praying together. Fellowship that is just centered around food and fun just isn’t the same as fellowship that comes out of prayer. It really is vital for the spiritual health of a church to pray together.

Every church should have days like this, days where we seek God, have fellowship that is centered on Christ, and rejoice in our God. To be together on your knees confessing sin and seeking God corporately is powerful and uniting.

I hope this is just the beginning of such days and weekends for us. And I pray that the burden to pray spreads across the world with Christians uniting all over in true, intercessory prayer.

One of the tragic cries in Isaiah is “This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.” Isa. 37:3. God has burdens that His people need to pray through. How many times has a great work of God been aborted because of a lack of praying through? Oh, we need to pray, and not just pray, but pray through! Are we willing to have God place His burden on us and travail until it is finished? Are we willing to give up hours, days, and even food to pray and weep? Are we willing to become vessels that God can burden with the things that burden His heart?

I hope that those who joined us at the mercy seat from different places in this world were also blessed in interceding at the Throne of Grace.
