Geneva Bible
I received a Geneva Bible as an Resurrection Day (Easter) gift. I have been reading it almost non-stop. It really is exciting to know not only that I am holding God's Word, but I am reading history. Many Christians around that time were being persecuted and killed. Just to know that I am reading the same text is really really awesome. It's also awesome to know that I am looking at the same study notes that the pilgrims read on their way over to America, and that even in our first public schools kids were reading these Bibles. I really really feel honored to read this and I don't think I can adequately put into words the reverence I have while holding this text.
I also was given a 1611 facsimile about 6months ago...and that is a joy and honor to read as well. God really has blessed us with His Word. IF you are ever in doubt of God's sovereign control look into the history of our English Bibles and you won't be able to help but smile at how amazing God is.
I just thought I would share this amazing gift with y'all.

I also was given a 1611 facsimile about 6months ago.

Now that is a large book! We had one of those in a library near our home in the reference section. Very impressive piece of work. A good little intro to these translations is Ken Connolly's video series the Indestructable Book.

Just so you know I was given a miniature version...my pa has the pulpit...yeah 26pounds...awesome

If you'd like to have a look at photographs of historical Bibles, check out the Bible Museum. They deal in antique Bibles and make facsimiles also. They have a lot of close up pictures of the actual books and lots of good historical info on their webpage. I went gaa-gaa when I saw all this stuff. (I love history and of course the Bible, so I was in orbit when I found this webpage.) Enjoy!

I highly recommend this 1599 Geneva Bible that Toll Lege Press put out last year they did a great Job at keeping the original Spirit.And yet kept the original notes and changed the typeset to make it very readable.Great Job! I also own a 1599 facsimile hardcover and a 1602 Hardcover New Testament.If your used to using the King James primarily This translation will be a nice fit.
