A WORD ABOUT "THE GODLY HOME" SERIES: Denny and Jackie Kenaston were saved in 1972 out of the “hippie culture.” The Lord Jesus delivered them from drugs, drinking, and many other things that go along with that life-style. They have raised their eight children in the rural setting of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, for the last 21 years. In this setting, they find many opportunities to extend their home school far beyond the classroom. They were first called to this location to help start Charity Christian Fellowship. Bro. Denny serves as an elder in this church. He also travels extensively in a church planting and preaching ministry. God has placed an anointing upon him to call the church back to a burden for the family. Thousands of this tape set have been sent out all over the world in the last twelve years. Many Families have fallen on their faces in repentance, and received a new vision for a Godly Home. Your heart and your home will be challenged and changed by these tapes. May God bless you. This new series was preached in January 2003.

Your heart and your home will be challenged and changed by these tapes.

I can testify to the truth of that statement. God used this series to open my eyes to family duties I was neglecting. The decision to home-school our children was in part influenced by this series. Outstanding series of messages, much biblical and practical wisdom on the Christian home.

Highly recommended for anyone with children or planning on having some. Kenaston also has a book out that is based on this series of messages, it is titled, The Pursuit of Godly Seed. Makes a great wedding gift.

In Christ,

I agree dear brother. I am single and am going to listen through all of these. Praise God may they be used for the glory of God and turn many to righteousness and godly living in our wicked and adulterous day.

I've went through the majority of his sermons on courtship and they were good. I can't imagine this series being any different.

I have listened to the first 4 sermons in this series what a encouragement and teaching! God's Spirit is over this man as he shares something that is very close to God's heart. My people die for lack of knoweldge and this generation has a great lack of knowledge on raising godly children. May God use this series to impact families and children for eternity!

A couple of months ago I burned some of these sermons for my commutes to work during a season of seeking the Lord about my family's spiritual life. I'll add my enthusiastic approval with everyone elses here. This is a really comprehensive series that can be quite helpful over the course of a lifetime, regardless of what position in a family you are coming from.

Bless you brother. You don't have to be a biological father to be a spiritual one.

Sorry stating that I am single (I meant I am not married), but I still think it is benefical to listen to these. I do have a biological father. Sorry if I confused you.

I'm going to work one of these off every night, listened to two or three before but i figured i go through them all. I believe one of the greatest testimonies for Christ in these times is a God fearing happy family, in these times of so much divorce ,filth and corruption and chaos and confusion in most family's, what a testimony for Jesus a holy family can be!

I meant I am not married

I understood what you meant and thus concluded you also meant that you had no children of your own at this time. Yet you said that you were going to listen to the series anyway. You don't have to store up all of that wisdom for the day you have a family of your own. It is an opportunity for you to be a spiritual father and impart fatherhood to the children who intersect your life that do not have a father. And it is not limited to children who do not have a father physically present in the home. There are lots of children who have a father present physically but have abandoned their children spiritually and emotionally.

I've listened to all of them! 8-)

Actually, this series is what God used to prompt me to throw away all my computer games (My idols) about 3 1/2 years ago! (I'm 19 now)

Even if your're single, its GOOD!!

what a testimony for Jesus a holy family can be!

Amen. Your children and descendants might see God's hand on their lives because of the way you live out our lives in your time...even before you are married.

this series is what God used to prompt me to throw away all my computer games (My idols) about 3 1/2 years ago! (I'm 19 now)

Keep your letters, your journals, writings, poems and songs to help establish your family in God over multiple generations brethren. The future saints down your lineage will treasure every one of them. (Those ancestors of mine that served the Lord, even 200 years ago, are a source of hope and direction as I raise my own family in these latest troubled times.) Helping set the Godly course for not only your children, but also your yet unborn descendants, is a vision all but lost in our modern churches.

Blessings,

i listened to message no.5 yesterday night, i woke up and i have a bit of a cold so couldn't go back to sleep, anyway i was there about 3 o'clock at night, i listened to pastor Denny and what hit me like a train was first of all the statistics! what came out of one Godly mother and father, and also his cry when he shares from his early walk with Jesus when he came in contact with a godly home, he cries as i did yesterday night...i want that...Lord i want it! and imagine what impact that could do! as he shared they figured out if you have six children, and they have six children and they have six children.....after five generations there are 10 000 ! all from two Godly parents.....

has anyone listened to all of these before or a good number of them??? I hope to get through them all when I can, but woul dlike to know from others who already have.

Yes, brother, I have listened through the series now three complete times, and going through it a fourth time. The Lord really used brother Denny's series to open my eyes to God's HEART about family. Up until then, I had very shallow views about it because I was consumed with "ministry". The Hearts of the Father Must Turn was perhaps the pivotal sermon that broke me, seeing that if my children are a real treasure, my heart will be there along with my time. It was a real turning point, and I really thank the Lord for this gift. I gave the series to a friend of mine and it really transformed his family life in Christ too. My now 3 year old daughter and 9 month old son have really benefited from the principles.

As you listen, one thing I realize now that got me a little off course was sometimes taking a strong application put forth (which are all very good) and then clinging to the application rather than to Christ. Let me give an example. One of the teaching speaks of many fathers moving out to the farm to raise the children, which has many great benefits for training hands-on. This stems from Deuteronomy 6 of speaking God's word as you're in the way and so on. So I had gotten my thought processes wrapped around a METHOD (i.e., going to the farm, or getting my own business to be with my children) and missing the present Christ in my daily circumstances. The study of the Jubilee in Lev. 25 really helped me to balance out great principles such as these with looking to the Lord. Lev. 25:20 poses the question the people had: "What shall we eat in the seventh year, since we shall not sow nor gather in our produce?" The key, eye-opening response of God was: "Then I will command My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it will bring forth produce enough for three years." As farmers are to sow seeds to get the crops, we as parents are to sow into our children, using many of the wonderful principles set forth in the Godly Home series. But God has a special "sabbath year" to put our sowing on the shelf to let us see that the glory and the fruit is not because of our efforts but His blessing. Yes, Peter did cast the net but the abundance of fish was the Lord's doing. So all I am saying by way of encouragement is to rejoice in the principles and examples, but set your heart upon the Lord who will bring the blessing to your family life. Don't get so wrapped up in a certain application and method that you miss the Lord (inadvertently). So now I see that I don't need to move to a farm (for example - nothing right or wrong about that), but I can trust Christ to bring the blessing far greater than any sowing I can do. He can make us produce 100-fold even if there be a famine all around us.

So with that being said, I do highly recommend the series. I have been SO grateful to the Lord for bro. Denny to bring God's heart in both vision and practical application to light in our modern day.

In Him,

Ken
