if you like it or not, God is on the move and the anointing is coming to YOU!

Is this an accurate quote from John Arnott?

"Another thing that hinders is people pray all the time. Praying in English or even praying in tongues. Mention the Holy Spirit and they start praying in tongues, you know. Our experience is that that will hinder substantially your ability to receive. And so I say to people, `Look don't pray.' It's hard to pour out and to pour in at the same time. It's like a bucket that's got a hole in it because you are pouring out in prayer. Stop and receive and let the Holy Spirit fill you. Be like a sponge and desire the Lord with everything that's within you. Every case that does that, they are on the floor receiving. People pray for you, that's your time to receive. Pray on the way out, you can pray later. Don't take control, you can take control later. The whole deal is, you lose control, He takes control. He gets you out of your comfort zone, makes you feel vulnerable, right? You can analyze it later can't you?" (John Arnott, at Holy Trinity Brompton, England, February 14, 1995)

The "Toronto Blessing" is a false, unscriptural movement that has deceieved thousands world-wide. I came out of a church that was caught up in it, along with the Brownsville "revival"...

One would do well to avoid it at all costs.

If that is an accurate quote from John Arnott then I want nothing to do with the "Toronto Blessing". Anytime someone tells us that we should pray less is wrong.

1 Thessalonians 5:17, "Pray without ceasing."

Why are we getting caught up in a movement that was 10 years ago? This is old news.

When Jesus walked the earth as the Word made Flesh, He was so normal looking that the Pharisees couldn't identify Him without help from someone who could recognise Him, several times. When He spoke though, the people recognised Him as having been sent from God.

After the Holy Spirit was poured out on those gathered in the upper room, they had great ease under the baptism in the Spirit, and demonstrated the changes which had taken place within them. They did not look deranged. The people who suggested they were 'drunk', were 'devout men' (Jews) who had a strong sense of neatly cut-and-dried religion.

Moving in the power of the Holy Spirit today does not mark us out as slightly deranged, but as definitely not of this world. What people (who do not believe) are looking for in Christians is geniune spiritual knowledge and insight which comes from God and communicates the hope we have, to them, as they hear how real HE is to us - that He hears us, and supplies us with the inner strength we need, to face the trials of living in this fallen world.

Ephesians 4:1 - 16 and 1 Corinthians 14 should both be operating naturally amongst us, showing the order which God has given to His body.

Disorder in the Body comes from the flesh - the carnal mind and reasonings of men / women - and spiritual entities or influences which have no right there. We expect to become like Christ.

If the word is preached as it should be, signs and wonders follow (Heb 2:4). These are not counterproductive to His will, but confirm it.

Because it's still going on, and still deceiving, and still putting out gross heresy thru it's teaching tapes, books and it's magazine (which I have tried for years since I left that whole mess to get off their mailing list... to no avail.)
