Are Christians called to Boycott

This question has been on my mind a lot, are we told from the Bible to boycott businesses that support thing that are anti-biblical? The OT saints did business with ungodly people, are there any NT guidelines?

Nearly all corporations are anti-biblical. They operate on the basis of greed at the expense of nearly anything and everything as long as they can get away with it and increase their revenue. You'd need to boycott nearly all of them, starting with nearly every food you purchase at the grocery store. But you can selectively boycott.

So if a company supports something you disagree with particularly and strongly, such as KRAFT (owned by Phillip Morris), and you don't want to support them... then go for it. There's no scripture that directly supports this (corporations didn't exist back then ;)-- but it's fine to do if your conscience forbids you from supporting a corporation based on its ethical standards.

I agree with Jordanamo... and would also like to add: Christians need to be known every bit as much for what we stand FOR as well as what we stand AGAINST...

I say that from years of seeing what I used to think were "strong" Christians because of their "stands against..." in society...

then one day I turned to one of them and said: "It occurs to me that I am very aware of what you are against...much more than what/who you stand for"

Thanks Jordan and Talkn2u, that's kinda how I'm leaning. I had people telling me to boycott Wal-mart, but when asked why they don't boycott all the businesses that sell porn or beer the didn't know why. :-(

Christians have become so politically minded in this country that they often times expend more energy trying to change society without trying to change hearts.

We could force our society to be the most moral society on earth, but if the heart isnt changed toward God... society is still going to hell in a hand basket.

On a personal level, I agree. Dont support a grocery store that sells porn. etc etc...

But spend your time telling people about Jesus.
